Magfest is funny af because it's one of the biggest annual gaming conventions, it gets praised a ton by anyone who goes, and every year Magfest PR is like "oh my god, we didn't know we'd sell out of tickets we didn't know anybody loved us, our hearts are so full, we thought people hated us" or sumn

A downside of following some of these news accounts is that sometimes I'll just be scrolling, see a pic of a celebrity before I actually read the post and get scared that the worst has happened and then the post is just "Joseph Nicestmanever, turns 75 years old today!! :)"

Will say as someone who isnt huge on the newer Metroid games it does warm my heart to see so many people see the Ravenous trailer and go "i NEED to play all the Metroid games now"

I'll be real the whole convo about game remakes kinda makes me feel like it's gonna age poorly and turn kinda gross soon. I don't like the idea that a remake by nature is just lesser than other games or that certain games "don't deserve remakes".

Remembering how the first mod for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet that released day of the game's release was to remove Ed Sheeran's shitass song from the credits. It was funny then, funnier now, and will unfortunately be funnier the worse a person Ed Sheeran gets.

I really wish this wasn’t something worth saying, but unless they change their stance on AI, please do not support Level-5. I love Yo-kai Watch so much, but I’d rather let my favorite game franchise die in peace than watch Level-5 slowly turn it into AI-ridden garbage.

Another thing to unfortunately get used to is seeing something neat in a Nintendo Direct/any company's equivalent, seeing the game on Steam, and getting hit with the disappointing genAI disclosure text afterwards.

I think something a lot of people will need to make peace with sooner or later is that Nintendo isn't immune to game development taking longer and that's why a lot of Directs now and going forward will have like 4 new first party announcements, a few Switch 2 editions, and more ports.

As someone who doesn't really think video games are art, a lot of people who say they think video games are art don't actually think they are and it's not exactly subtle. And a lot of the loudest voices on the matter are the fakest.
