I've been thinking this since day 1 of Bluesky. I love the *idea* of owning my social media data, but for anything other than my follower graph I don't care whether it's locked or open. When I left Twitter I burned it all. I don't need to keep my tweets from 10 years ago. I only need my followers.

hard pill to swallow for atproto developers/creators: 99% of potential users either do not care about, value, understand, or want to “own their own data” i see so many apps/projects lead with this “value prop”, but it’s not an important or meaningful consideration for most people

Had to take Bella to the vet today because apparently grapes are toxic for dogs and they can die of kidney failure if they have too many. She had just a few and is doing a-okay but just to be sure, we’re doing a blood test.

Codex ran `File.rm_rf!` on my side-project and deleted the entire project, including the .git folder that contained a few days of work in an unpublished local branch 😭 FML

Just in case you still use any Basecamp products, DHH is crashing out about his AI product gently pointing out that it’s bad for him to have extermination fantasies about the Roma people.

DHH tweet saying “This is why we need competition and open weights in Al. Imagine a world where only Anthropic sat as the moral arbiter of acceptable speech. Fucking ridiculous. AI-assisted programming isn't that you sit back and relax. For building a production-ready product, you have to manage iterations, organize requirements, do QA, raise bugs to AI, and review code. You can't just vibe out a serious project without knowing what you're doing.
