El-Sayed: "If all Mike Rogers got is that 'his name is Abdul, and my name is Mike,' you're gonna be surprised how many people are like, 'Yeah, but that's the Abdul who wants to bring down the price of my groceries and make sure I got healthcare. So yeah, I like Abdul over your Mike from Florida.'"

I will say the attempt to paint him as an extremist or a radical, when he graduated from UM-Ann Arbor, where he played LACROSSE, then gets an MD from Columbia and a doctorate from Oxford (where he was a Rhodes Scholar), is some old school Islamophobia.

GEIST: You went to the University of Michigan. Are you confident that Sparty fans also will come around to you? EL-SAYED: Look, as long as we're not going red and going to Ohio, I'm good with it

Haley Stevens was out with a gracious concession and a commitment to support Abdul El-Sayed within about one hour of the AP call in her race. If she can buck up first thing in the morning, everyone else can. That’s actual political leadership.

I meant to post this last night but if you’re mad about any of the primary results you got 24 hours to bleed, try not to say anything you’ll regret in 48, and then it’s Blue No Matter Who.

A gracious concession: “I want to congratulate Abdul El-Sayed on winning the Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate. He is a doctor, a community health official, a Rhodes Scholar, and a dedicated Michigander. I am proud to offer my support as he takes on Mike Rogers in the general election…

My hot take is that if moderate Dems want to win (primaries and generals), they need to nominate decent candidates. Haley was a mess. Even with crazy money, you can't be a mess.

My ice-cold boring take that will definitely not go viral is that a primary result with a margin of victory of roughly 1 percent tells you precisely nothing about The Future Of The Party.

Families have always been the primary caregivers for the sick, but children who act as caregivers face unique burdens and challenges. That this scenario exists is a clear sign of massive policy and structural failures.

The U.S. Relies on Family Caregivers. Millions of Them Are Kids. (Gift Article)

The modern health care system requires the work of caregiving to fall to whoever else lives in a household — even if they’re kids.

Transportation secretary Sean Duffy benefited from millions in corporate donations to make a show about road trips. But two months after Duffy said the show would premiere, it doesn't appear to exist at all. My latest False Flag @thebulwark.com: www.thebulwark.com/p/what-the-h...

What the Hell Happened to Sean Duffy’s Road-Trip TV Show?

Three months after it was announced, the secretary of transportation’s summer show—funded by companies he regulates—hasn’t aired a single episode.
