I remember when I learned how to keep going. I was very out of shape. Young, maybe 15. We had taken the boat across Jenny Lake in the Tetons. A huge storm rolled in and the wait to get back across stacked up for hours. So we decided to hike around the lake, in pouring rain.

The reason I have zero interest in product launches is that what I see is a promise of planned obsolescence. Once in a blue moon you get something truly novel, but most of the time it's like Taco Bell coming up with a new menu item. What would wow me? Promising durability and right to repair.

Passing a cyclist or any other slow moving vehicle in your lane while on a blind corner, near the crest of a hill, or around an intersection is not only illegal, but monumentally stupid. Someone passed a cyclist in the oncoming lane on a blind corner yesterday and they almost killed me.

Labor Day is coming up. While traditionally workers celebrate on May 1st, in the US, it is the first Monday in September. Many people in the US fought and died for the rights we have today, and we must remember those workers that stood up against wealth and power.
