Huge thanks to firefighter crews in Hampshire for tackling the fires in Blackwater, Camberley and across the South this summer. The extreme heat has put immense pressure on our environment and public services, and I'm grateful to everyone who has stepped up to support our community.

I hear from hundreds of people across North East Hampshire every single week, and it's been great to be able to support so many individuals with the issues they are facing. Here are a few highlights:
Rural pubs are struggling; many tell me it's worse than the Covid years. Burnham's 20% cut in business rates for pubs in England is a welcome first step, but it's not enough. The broken business rates system needs a complete overhaul.
🌳 Today is World Nature Conservation Day, a great opportunity to celebrate the incredible nature we're lucky to have in North East Hampshire.
☀️Here is what I got up to this week in North East Hampshire 🔶 ✍️ Wrote to Andy Burnham about how government and water regulator failures are hurting infrastructure in North East Hampshire. 🛍️ Held discussions with members of Fleet Business Improvement District to explore high street strategy.
✈️It's Farnborough International Airshow! With a military and innovation heritage, Farnborough Airport was a former Ministry of Defence airfield and the location where the first powered flight in the UK took off. 🚀
🚱 Hosepipe ban confirmed for Hampshire South East Water has announced a temporary hosepipe ban for customers in Hampshire, coming into force at 00:01 on Saturday 25 July. The company is urging everyone to start cutting back straight away rather than waiting for the ban to officially begin.
Andy Burnham, we need urgent changes to planning. 💧 70,000 residents in Basingstoke and Deane could see their water supply put at risk, after South East Water's failed to deliver a pipeline that would help secure our water supply and reduce the need to take water from local chalk aquifers.
📍A memorable week in Westminster before recess. This week I: 🏥 Pushed the Health Secretary yet again to move Basingstoke Hospital up the rebuilding list. 💧 Criticised the Government's planning changes, which are leaving our infrastructure and nature vulnerable.
Frimley Park Hospital update The recently-announced planned hospital site is not perfect. And the report published today outlines some of the challenges of site selection. I recommend anyone with an interest in the new hospital reads the report.
🏘️Planning! 🚨Today I told the minister exactly what I think of Labour's planning policy and I'm not backing down. 📝❌By making local plans effectively redundant, this Government has left Basingstoke & Deane and Hart wide open to inappropriate speculative development with no infrastructure.
Bringing real-world experience to Parliament.🏛️ Before being elected, I worked with young people with Down syndrome. What struck me most was their talent, their humour, and how much they want to work. What I also saw were the barriers standing in their way, and how huge those barriers can be.
Ann was a dedicated public servant and I was pleased to see fitting tributes from our major parties in Parliament today.
✍️ Sign the petition to rebuild Basingstoke hospital. ✅ Today I raised Basingstoke Hospital yet again in the House of Commons. The land has been secured yet we're being told to wait until 2046 for the doors to open. In the meantime, the old hospital is costing more and more each year in repairs.
⚠️ Local update: The A30 in Blackwater is shut in both directions while fire crews continue damping down a heathland fire. A large number of engines are in attendance. Please avoid the area and find an alternative route.
Another week working hard for North East Hampshire. 🔶 This week's highlights: 🩺 Visited Whitewater GP practice to discuss changes to the way GP services are delivered and ensuring nobody is left behind in the move to adopt new technology.
💧 It's time to hold water companies to account 🚰South East Water supplies fresh water to most of our area. It has failed to deliver a pipeline that would help secure our water supply and reduce the need to take water from local chalk aquifers.
What a stunt! Farage's by-election is clearly a publicity stunt designed to distract from an investigation into his funding and vast financial gifts. What's worse, the tax-payer is picking up the bill.
Tune in to ITV Meridian tonight📺 Tonight catch me with @kitbradshaw.bsky.social on The Last Word, straight after the News at Ten, talking about the political issues facing our country right now.
Farage triggering a by-election that he is going to stand in - a bold political risk taken to avoid the scrutiny to which all MPs are subject. The difference is that most of us don't receive £5million from a friend and work with convicted fraudsters 🤷♀️ Man of the people? Pah!
Half a million flogging gold, a £5M reward for Brexit - and now reports say he’s been funded by a convicted criminal. Farage isn't fighting for Britain - he's fighting for the highest bidder.
Pity-me statements are demeaning. Farage is rich, educated and powerful. He is not a victim. He has earned millions alongside his career as an MP. No wonder he can afford to bankroll his own office costs! He is a thin-skinned whinger, not a leader.
Farage talking about "The Establishment" as if he's not a part of it. He needs to be held to account as the rest of us are.
Yesterday I got a sneak peek of the new Offgrid Energy Labs in Hook, celebrating the opening of their new factory and UK HQ right here in North East Hampshire⚡
Asking your questions and holding Government to account. I promised to be a hard-working, local MP for North East Hampshire.
Celebrating two years as your MP 🧡 Two years ago, you put your trust in me to represent our local community. I promised to be a hard-working, visible, local MP and it has been an honour to work hard every day since, in the hope of meeting your expectations.
With businesses closing on our high streets, it's vital that we explore all options to support them. Fleet has lost all its banks, many small businesses and cafes. And the area's most extensive high street is also about to lose M&S, Morrisons Local, Scoop and the Post Office 📮.
Westminster Hall debate 🗣️ Calling on the Minister to urgently change early years funding 👶 Early years is the best investment our country can make to secure a child's future. But I’ve heard from so many people that the sector is being pushed to the brink.
