I’m never okay with people playing music on their phones on a train but someone singing? 🤔 Was a new one on me! Happily she had an incredible voice and kept the volume low so I just sat and enjoyed it 😊

These class 37s have a lot in common with sausage rolls 🤔 They’ve been around forever ✅ Improve any day considerably ✅ Best served hot… ❌ Okay I’ll keep researching this list

The downside of an 8 hour delivery window is I can’t really make any plans on my day off 🤔 The plus side is I have an excuse to spend all day on the model railway 🥳

Ever waved a hello to someone you know in a public space and someone else thought you were greeting them? I had that yesterday, with a tiny, fuzzy dog. It lead to one of the loveliest interactions I’ve ever had 😊

Today was filled with train failures, signals passed at danger and a derailment, yes I’ve been on the simulator 🙂 I managed to prove I still have what it takes to be a driver for another year, go me 😇

I just drove to Lowestoft in a very poorly train that only had half its engines working. It was one of the most relaxing things I’ve ever done! 🙂

Last night I found one of my long lost flasks in the cab of a train 🥳 I was so excited that I managed to lose my travel mug in a different one 🤦‍♂️

When you hand a train on to another driver you usually tell them how many coaches are in the formation. Pretty easy with this one! 🧍‍♂️ How many coaches drive? 🧍‍♀️…nope

The bad news is next week I have to fall out of bed at crazy hours to work some early shifts. The good news is my favourite cafe in London is open and ready to make breakfast omelettes 😊

Today I stood and watched as a deer ate all the flowers I was charged with looking after 🤦‍♂️ If anyone needs me I’ll be in my shed, inventing an exploding daffodil 😇

Last weeks fire has meant the main lines at Stratford are blocked for repairs, but good news! Your tall, train-driving friend managed to thread his class 745 along the diversion between underground trains and odd driverless ones. Bravo me 😊

Typically I had a great idea for the model railway just before I had to leave for work 🤦‍♂️ Fingers crossed I can remember it by the time I get home. Ho hum, have a train! 😊

Today was really not a good day for the air-conditioning in the cab to break. Felt like I was sitting in an air fryer! 🥵

I had a fabulous time this morning cheering on the Pink Ladies Tractor Run. The happiest convoy you can imagine raising money for breast cancer research. A truly moving thing to see and great fun, I highly recommend! 🚜 ❤️
