hi im Alice 🏳️‍⚧️ she/her 38. occasionally open ableton to make bleeps as Life Patterns. eng manager. the internet was a huge mistake. https://lifepatterns.bandcamp.com/

Not caring about shit is the best. Absolutely care about shit, but try to care for the shit that really matters, ideally shit you can do shit about. If your only exposure to shit is the internet maybe that shit ain't for you.

Listened to American Idiot for the first time in years, is there a more effective time capsule back to thag point in time? Maybe Battlestar Galactica. Also this is kinda like what Jeff Rosenstock does nowadays but he does it better? What a ridiculous, sometimes breathtaking collection of songs.

Lunistice has got me so completely, it even has me going after S ranks in a way no Sonic game ever did. Some combination of the aesthetics, absolutely perfect controls, music and being just the right size of game. Totally in love with it.

Manifesting that the ultimate outcome of "AI art on food menus" is worldwide adoption of displaying plastic replicas of dishes in restaurant windows.

THE END OF OAK STREET out there proving you can make a great Spielberg homage dinosaur genre flick in 2026, makes one wonder how the Jurassic World franchise has been so completely fumbling it for 10+ years.

I wonder if there's an entire generation of art that'll be tainted by the simple fact that it existed in a time where AI usage was rampant. Like was this movie shit because of AI? Did that author use AI or was that just really their style?

There needs to be a word for the sense of dread, anger and pain that comes out of having to spend time considering a coworker's AI slop document or spreadsheet. The day can't come soon enough when you can just say "yeah come back to me when you've got something real".

They really came up with a word that means "a word or phrase that reads the same backward or forward", and then not make that word read the same backward or forward.

Should start measuring my life by the amount of times a day I have to do something that makes me want to crawl back in bed instead but I'm afraid of what I might find out.

Hormonal as all hell, tits hurt, can't sleep because of recurring nightmares... Quake and Hiroshi Yoshimura's Static (such an underrated gem) are pretty much single-handedly keeping me going.

Normalize signing off of sites when you're done with them for the day, as a little ritual to return to better things. We lost so much when the internet stopped being something you connected into and just because the thing that's on forever.

This, this, a thousand times this. Even if the money amount by itself isn't life changing by itself, it adds up if enough people do it and also the notion that someone is willing to pay money for your art will lift you up in the darkest days.

people get intimidated by the social belief of "supporting the arts" as like donating $5,000,000 for a new wing at a museum or hosting some gala it's not. 10% of our audience throwing us $1.00 a month would literally be *life-changing* money most artists are in the same boat.

Woke up from a nap absolutely convinced I have to check out PS1 Asterix games despite no proof of them existing or being any good, just this feeling that they'll be something worth getting stuck into
