Patti Tashman was convicted of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a class A misdemeanor, and Harassment in the Second Degree, a violation. Ms. Tashman was a special education teacher assigned to teach a self-contained kindergarten classroom. The victim was a six-year-old student.

Steamboat Square, 220 Green St., Albany, where Phase 2 of a multi-phase, $201 million revitalization effort of the entire Albany Housing Authority Steamboat Square campus is underway. This 343-unit affordable and supportive housing project includes preservation as well as new construction.

Andrea Nussinow, 64, owner of a Clermont-area horse farm, was sentenced in Hudson City Court by the Hon. John Connor Jr. to three years probation, ordered to pay $1,750 in fines and serve 100 hours of community service for her role in the mistreatment of horses housed on her property.

The UAlbany rowing team was welcomed back to practice with a surprise this season - a boathouse all its own! UAlbany is the only SUNY college that offers a division one women's rowing program. The team's first competition this season is on September 27th at the docks near Jumpin' Jack's.
