• Call for Papers – session on mobility trajectories at the ISA World Congress 2027

Together with Riccardo Valente, I am organizing the session “Mobility Trajectories Across the Life Course: New Directions in the Sociology of Population” at the ISA World Congress of Sociology 2027 in Gwangju, South Korea, within RC41 Sociology of Population. We welcome contributions examining mobility as a dynamic and cumulative life-course process, including childhood and lifetime mobility, linked lives and family ties, socio-economic and health consequences, and methodological innovations for studying complex mobility histories.

Partnership trajectories played a key role in shaping completed fertility of cohorts born 1962–77 in Spain. Delayed/foregone unions strongly reduced the likelihood of motherhood, while stable marriages supported progression to higher parity. www.demographic-research.org/articles/vol...

Comparative Population Studies welcomes submissions to the 2026 special issue Migration Trajectories Across the Life Course, guest edited by Sergi Vidal (Autonomous University of Barcelona), Aude Bernard (University of Queensland), and Riccardo Valente (Autonomous University of Barcelona). The proposed special issue aims to leverage a trajectory-based approach that fully accounts for the multi-dimensional nature of migration across time and space, providing deeper insights into diverse migration trajectory patterns and their long-term individual and societal implications.
