🖤💛❤️. Hater of colonisers & white people. Only using for mild takes to throw out into the ether.

as a failure, an entity who shouldn't even be a part of this story, a walking contradiction, the threat of the agent-woman who smashes through the determinism of the prophecy which is upheld by a feminine boy who only mechanically follows it b/c he assumes there is no alternative

susie basically refuses all signifiers of femininity period out of her own will, and effectively exists in the position of the conventional rpg protagonist. however, she has faced immense ostracization, and despite being loved by her friends she is constantly literally and metaphorically monsterized

Going back to this because I’m thinking about it again. I think the form of fatalism Sans represents is far too incompatible with Camus and his *genuine* depression is far too integral for it to makes sense. His battle is a last ditch effort that fails because his “laziness” is his ultimate flaw

I've been shared that Moon Channel UTDR video multiple times and I don't want to diss it or anything, it's an alright video and I appreciate what it tries to do, I just think UTDR is very detail-oriented in a way where it's pretty noticeable when people miss stuff and then jump to an odd conclusion

Weird route(-ish) spoiler: “You can’t even say stop like you used to” is so harrowing. I wish this route didn’t allow you to back out at all after last chapter, this was kinda my biggest fear, but if it keeps the consequences going and doesn’t go back to normal fully then I’m maybe okay with it.

I'm such a sucker for character foils, this chapter probably solidified Ralsei as my favourite of the fun gang despite him being the one I hated most in the first few. It's crazy how much more fun he is when you let him be a little mean and represent self-hatred in more ways than woe is me

I wish Toby wasn’t so allergic to the light world drama escalating (at least on the normal route). Especially with Asgore it’s very awkward how he writes some characters as if they must withhold information even during what should be them pouring their heart out to someone they trust and is involved

IMO this is basically what chapter 3 should have been, although I still didn’t Love it. I like how Toby didn’t ignore how idea of taking care of life as a form of escapism is an odd relationship with creatures we have as people. Wish it leaned a bit more into that but it was good for the flower gang

After some thought, I think it’s less that it’s written with Clark being black in mind, and more that it’s written with Mary’s whiteness mostly in mind, and in the end it causes an ending that is thematically interesting and satisfying IMO, but still kinda careless in regards to racial optics

I wonder how intentional of a choice Clark being black was tbh, it seems thematically intentional like Kane wanted to engage with the contamination paranoia of the dynamics there but he kinda just ends up playing into stereotypes a little?

Backrooms is a very earnest manifestation of it's subculture of 2020s internet horror, made me feel bad for treating The Caretaker kinda as a joke lol

A-Train’s actor going on the fucking Fresh&Fit podcast while the show actively mocks manosphere podcasts & the manosphere (by name!) is such a hilarious showcase of the show’s hollow parody. It was already sad watching it hide from the elephant in the room in western politics, but that’s so pathetic

I get that the point of the show is being on the nose, but I’ve been sick of these Stan Edgar monologues since season 2, man. At least he has a chance to die next episode. Also, horrible quips and comedic dialogue all around. It’s never been a strongsuit but it’s obnoxious with the current stakes.
