Each year, IVF helps thousands of Ohioans have the families they deserve. However, Republicans in Congress want to limit access to the treatment. I'm fighting to pass the Right to IVF Act and guarantee that protection under the law.

Today I’m celebrating the 6th anniversary of the Great American Outdoors Act and its Legacy Restoration Fund.
Families are getting squeezed on the basics: groceries, health care, housing, energy, and family care. The New Democrat Coalition's Affordability Agenda takes on all five, because lowering costs where people feel them most shouldn't be complicated.
Political attempts to “defund” Planned Parenthood and other escalating attacks on our reproductive rights threaten health care for us all. We must protect Planned Parenthood.
The Tuskegee Airmen broke barriers most Americans couldn't imagine. They flew combat missions overseas while facing segregation and discrimination back home.
Ruben Ray Martinez. Silverio Villegas Gonzalez. Keith Porter. Renee Good. Alex Pretti. Lorenzo Salgado Araujo. Joan Sebastion Guerrero. Seven killed is seven too many. ICE needs to do more to make sure these situations don’t escalate to where people are getting killed.
It's Fibroids Friday! Uterine fibroids affect an estimated 26 million women ages 15 to 50 in the U.S. According to the National Institute of Health, up to 77% of women will develop them before menopause.
Happy 61st anniversary to Medicare and Medicaid! For more than six decades, these programs have given Ohioans in the 13th District the dignity of quality, affordable healthcare. I'll always fight to protect and strengthen them.
At a time when Ohio families are struggling to pay for gas, groceries, housing, and healthcare, President Trump and Republicans are prioritizing giving more of their hard-earned money away for a war that never needed to start.
I'm hosting a Housing Roundtable tomorrow evening, July 30! Join me for a community conversation on housing affordability, homeownership, and building a stronger future for families across Ohio's 13th District. Register using the QR code or at sykes.house.gov/event. See you tomorrow!
We already have voter ID laws in Ohio. The SAVE America Act doesn't add security. It dismantles mail-in voting for millions of Americans, including seniors, married people who changed their names, military families, and rural voters who rely on it most.
Congratulations to Sadali Costa of Stow, believed to be the first Sri Lankan American girl to earn the rank of Eagle Scout in Scouting America.
If you come for The King, you best not miss. The president did.
I’m thrilled to highlight Project DEPOT right here in Ohio’s 13th District.
Seventeen years ago this month, on July 24, 2009, the federal minimum wage was raised to $7.25 an hour. It hasn't gone up since. That's 17 years of rising costs, from gas to groceries to housing to health care, while the federal wage floor stays frozen in time.
In the year since President Trump signed the “One Big Beautiful Bill,” 50,477 children in Ohio children have lost access to SNAP. This leaves families with impossible choices between paying for groceries, rent, and utilities. Food assistance isn't a line item. It's whether a kid eats dinner tonight.
Today is Black Women's Equal Pay Day. It takes until July for Black women's earnings to catch up to what White men made by December 31 of 2025. Black women make just $.65 for every dollar earned by White men, a gap that adds up to real setbacks in over a lifetime.

Big news for The Buckeye State. Ohio has been ranked #1 in CNBC's Top States for Business in 2026! It's the first time our state has topped the list. It shows the work we are doing for Ohio workers, families, and businesses is the shining example for the rest of the country to follow.
17 service members have been killed. I’m calling on Congress to act before more families are forced to endure this unimaginable loss.
FEMA is being politicized and families are paying the price. Since January 2025, disaster requests from Democratic governors have only been approved 23% of the time vs. 89% for GOP-led states. Meanwhile, DHS is siphoning FEMA funds for deportation campaigns. Americans in crisis deserve better.
Today, I issued the following statement after two American service members were killed in Jordan and another was reported missing.
Today we honor Nelson Mandela and the enduring power of his fight for justice, equality, and human dignity. Mandela taught the world that even 27 years in prison could not break the human spirit or the pursuit of freedom.
Today we honor the life and legacy of Congressman John Lewis, a man who taught us that true patriotism means getting into "good trouble" in the fight for justice.
Smoke from the Canadian wildfires is affecting air quality across Ohio today. If you can, spend less time outside, keep your windows closed, and be especially careful if you have asthma, heart disease, or another respiratory condition. Please stay safe! www.beaconjournal.com/story/weathe...

My statement on President Trump's address.
I wanted to question Summit County's top election official during a hearing yesterday but wasn't allowed to participate. I submitted my questions for the record on delayed reporting and other concerns affecting #OH13 voters. I won't stop fighting for the transparency and accountability you deserve.
This plan would let politics, not merit, decide which research, community programs, and local initiatives get funded, and make it easier to pull grants already awarded.
This July, we celebrate Disability Pride Month and the more than one in 4 Americans living with a disability.
