Seventeen years ago this month, on July 24, 2009, the federal minimum wage was raised to $7.25 an hour. It hasn't gone up since. That's 17 years of rising costs, from gas to groceries to housing to health care, while the federal wage floor stays frozen in time.

In the year since President Trump signed the “One Big Beautiful Bill,” 50,477 children in Ohio children have lost access to SNAP. This leaves families with impossible choices between paying for groceries, rent, and utilities. Food assistance isn't a line item. It's whether a kid eats dinner tonight.

I wanted to question Summit County's top election official during a hearing yesterday but wasn't allowed to participate. I submitted my questions for the record on delayed reporting and other concerns affecting #OH13 voters. I won't stop fighting for the transparency and accountability you deserve.

This plan would let politics, not merit, decide which research, community programs, and local initiatives get funded, and make it easier to pull grants already awarded.
