Meet Nina. Andy and I found her in Austin about three bears ago in the 105° heat about to die. She immediately picked me as her favorite, but as always… Andy has worn her down, and she forgot about me.

This is an old photo of Nina in my lap before she betrayed me and went to Andy instead. I have no photos of Nina and Andy because the wounds of the betrayal run too deep and haven’t healed. Random photo of Nina in the bedroom telling me all of this is hers. My pants are on the floor which implies I’m naked - probably sleeping to recover from working out. The up tail is supposed to mean the cat is happy, but in Nina’s case it just means she is extremely wicked and manipulative. She steals my chicken off my plate. This was Nina when we first caught her. She was missing most of her fur and had open sores from allergies from fleas. Also, she was severely under weight. We didn’t need another cat, but looking at her was upsetting.

I’ve been gradually leaning up by making different food choices. Eating slow versus fast carbs, more protein, avoiding desserts. It’s slow but steady - not a life changer. It’s nicer than a crash diet and more sustainable. My weight has remained the same since I can still gain muscle.
