Hello UK friends! A heads-up that there’s another chance to catch my Ottoman Empire by Train series on @channel4.bsky.social at 7pm tonight. Then stay tuned for my wonderful friend @bettanyhughes.bsky.social with her BRAND NEW Secrets of a Viking Ship!

Never knew the Fabulously Wealthy Tarts sang on The Piranhas Zambezi. Loved Kim & Maz when they were the backing singers for Paul Young. #TOTP1982
Great to see all the jobs I'm qualified for are now listed as AI assisted roles. Guess I need to add another string to my bow before applying for any new job now. It's absolute nonsense. Been there before where someone has to come in and clear up the mess.
3-2 defeat away to Man City, take that considering we lost 4-1 and 6-0 last time we were in the Prem. Promising signs we'll give it a better go this time round.
How long does it normally take for a film to have a sequel produced? In the case of 1983's glorious British comedy Party Party it's 43 years. Party Party 2, Return of the Wild Stallion finished filming last month so should be released next year. Now to dig out the dvd of the original... 😉
Finding a new job when you've reached 60 is like finding a needle in a haystack. It doesn't look like I'm getting past the new AI filtering even for temp or part time work. Soul destroying.
Just watched an history programme on King John and they mentioned quicksand. Whatever happened to quicksand? It was all over TV in the 70s & 80s but I've not seen or heard anything about it for decades.
Went out wandering for the first time in a while over the weekend and spotted a gnarly old tree trunk and the wonderful colours of autumn. #nature #autumn #walking #autumncolours
Really don't know why I keep watching The Curse of Oak Island. It's been on for 13 seasons, 230 episodes and sod all has happened. And Gary's whiny voice, calling everybody mate 2-3 times in every sentence is getting more irritating every episode. Time to bin it.
Good to see an eighth season of #CanalBoatDiaries has been commissioned for release next year. Not sure I could live that lifestyle (maybe last about a week!) but it does look a relaxing way to live. Love the way Robbie shows it warts & all, crashes, getting stuck, losing his phone in the canal etc.
Don't get all this hate for Man City before a final decision has been made. So many "fans" from other clubs seem to be going for the jugular but I prefer to wait until all the info is avaliable before making a decision. Seems pointless to speculate before all the facts are known.
Here's my report from the first of two games attended this weekend. Turned out to be a cracking match. #NonLeague #grassrootsfootball
Wandering Tractor's latest match report comes from the Wessex League Division One tie between Sandhurst Town and Hamworthy United. Report: https://bit.ly/4gEnOHp
Without saying your age, what is your favorite movie that came out when you were 20 years old?

Seriously? Great Christmas has started showing Xmas movies already? That's just wrong.
For anyone interested, I've written a #blog about the ups & downs of my big day out in London Docklands taking on the Summer Walk. Huge thanks to all who have donated to @dementiauk.bsky.social it's most appreciated! #walking #LondonDocklands #ultrachallenge wanderingtractor.uk/london-summe...

It's been a busy weekend! A bonus game for me on Sunday as I thought I'd be too knackered after Saturday's charity walk to go to any football. Seems I was wrong... 🙂 #womensfootball
The Adobe Women's FA Cup was Sunday's unexpected destination for Wandering Tractor. Ashridge Park vs Slough Town served up the entertainment. Full match report: https://bit.ly/4hRl62g
Think I might spend some time this afternoon writing a blog on my charity 25km walk in London on Saturday. #walking #ultrachallenge #London #Docklands
If anyones looking for a long read this morning, I’ve published my first club feature after vowing to visit every senior men’s and women’s team this season. footballinberkshire.co.uk/features/opi...
Every Town, Every Team: #1 Reading City
The Nag’s Head in central Reading is where this journey begin. First stop Reading City FC and The Rivermoor for Derby day.

Not your average Saturday. That was hard but when a walk is run by a company called Ultra Challenge I guess it was never likely to be easy! Here's a few pics including some end of day figures. #walking #Docklands #London #charitywalk
Blimey, Slough Town are really on a mission to piss their fans off this season. First the shambles with the new badge and now this partnership with Identisurge and their ID system. A lot of opposition to both.
Wishing all the best to @10milesadayclub.bsky.social in the Sussex Stride event tomorrow. At least it's looking like it'll be a comfortable temperature! Good luck mate!
Wandering Tractor has filed his second report from last weekend, having taken in Maidenhead United's FA Women's National League opener against Moneyfields on Sunday. Full match report is here: https://bit.ly/4g9VNY3
I've come to the conclusion that my two most hated songs ever are:- The Final Countdown - Europe Rock Lobster - B52s (in fact anything from the B52s) Yours?
Liking the new Spoons policy of not allowing music or calls using the speaker in the pub. Nothing irritates me more than having to listen to someone's phone conversation or flicking through reels with random bursts of shit music while on a bus or train. Use bloody earphones!
I've never been much of a train enthusiast but just seen the Flying Scotsman is doing 4 hour trips from Didcot in October and have to say I'm quite tempted. Have a little think about that, never been on a steam train so I guess it'd be a once in a lifetime thing. 🚂
Ipswich are only one of four league clubs who have yet to play a competitive game at the new Wembley Stadium, the others being Blackburn Rovers, Accrington Stanley & Colchester United. Will one of those make it off the list this season? NB. It won't be us. 🙂
I have no football this weekend as on Saturday I'll be taking on the 25km London Summer Walk to raise funds for @dementiauk.bsky.social. Check out my Just Giving page below and if you have any spare change & can help me reach my target, I'd really appreciate it! www.justgiving.com/page/dave-re...
