🇬🇧🇪🇺 Brexit’s barriers are costing British businesses, farmers and artists. Touring sectors lost £208m and 2,490 jobs, while 59% of UK musicians say touring Europe is no longer viable. We must repair our relationship with the EU and remove unnecessary barriers.

On Sunday, I was honoured to join the Nottinghamshire County Rowing Association for their boat naming ceremony. The new James Naish MP has officially tested the waters! 🚣 After 20 years off the water, it was quite an experience. Thank you for a brilliant day! 🥂

📣 Good to be back in the Chamber today as parliament returned from summer recess. I was pleased to ask the third formal question of the new term. ❓I asked about the expansion of Israeli settlements in the West Bank and whether a trade ban on goods from illegal settlements is now necessary.

🗑️ Fly-tipping is a blight on our communities. In Rushcliffe, there were 1,086 incidents last year. New Government proposals could give councils powers to make fly-tippers clean up their own mess and pay the cost of clearing it. 📣 Have your say by 16 October.

🎓 It’s A-level results day! A huge congratulations to everyone across Rushcliffe receiving their results today. Whatever you decide to do next, I hope you’re proud of what you’ve achieved. 👏 Good luck for the next chapter!

🌍 Keeping homes comfortable shouldn't cost the planet. I'm backing calls to expand the Boiler Upgrade Scheme to include air to air heat pumps, providing low carbon heating in winter, cooling in summer, lower energy bills and more climate ready homes for the future.

🥇 Some of the best news to receive as an MP is hearing about the achievements of people in our community. Huge congratulations to Rushcliffe’s Sophie Hahn on winning gold for England in the women’s 100m T38 final at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games.

📣 Rushcliffe featured on Matt's Member of Parliament on BBC Radio 5 Live last week! It was great to hear so many brilliant stories about our area. Congratulations to Wendy, whose story was chosen as the winner! Now I'm curious: what would you say about Rushcliffe? Share your story in the comments 👇

🛒 Good news for Lady Bay! Earlier this month, many of you got in touch about the closure of the Co-op on Trent Boulevard. I'm pleased to let you know it will re-open on Tuesday 28 July after maintenance works took a little longer than expected.

🚧 Kirk Hill Bridge update: the road closures are over! Great news for everyone affected by the diversions. Since October, I've been meeting regularly with Network Rail, Via and NCC to raise residents' concerns and keep the project on track. Thanks for your patience while the work continues.

👋🏼 Another surgery done! Today I was in Upper Saxondale, where I had some great conversations with constituents about a wide range of issues. Thank you to everyone who took the time to come along, share your views, and raise the topics that matter to you. Have a wonderful weekend everyone! 😊

🚌📚 Day two of the Summer School! 📣 We started at Goalhanger in London, learning all about podcasts and media before my team and I welcomed the students to Parliament for a behind-the-scenes look at what MPs do day to day. Tomorrow is the final day - look out for one last update!

🚨 Following the recent fire at Langar, Nottinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service has confirmed the cause was accidental: refracted sunlight igniting combustible material. No pollution entered local waterways. Thank you to all emergency crews and local residents who supported the response.
