Books 20 & 21/52 in 2025 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ What Moves the Dead by T. Kingfisher ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Words of Radiance by Brandon Sanderson June was a slimmer reading month. I’m behind schedule, but not mad about it. Finishing 2.5 books from The Stormlight Archive definitely counts for something. 😅
Books 18 & 19/52 in 2025 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Strange Practice by Vivian Shaw ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson May was a tough month to get reading done, and The Way of Kings was a beast of a book so it took a while, but was absolutely worth it. On to book 20!
We bara’d, we bada’d, we bastu’d. Sadly KAJ didn’t win, but we definitely did. Eurovision was amazing! Good thing in still learning Deutsch for Österreich 2026 🫣🇦🇹

Book 17/52 in 2025 (clearly I can’t count 😅) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Warbreaker by Brandon Sanderson A slow burn, but the Sanderlanche is real! And I’m a huge fan of a super complicated magic system. If I need photos and string to explain it, I’m hooked. On to book 18!

Books 14 & 15/52 in 2025 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Well of Ascension ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Hero of Ages by Brandon Sanderson Flew through both! Some of the twists were wild, and I found myself saying “oh shit” many times. Sanderson really knows how to end on a cliffhanger and I’m all in on the Cosmere now. On to book 16!
Got a new wallet, and the jump scare I get every time I see my drivers license creeping from the top of the stack cracks me up 🫣🤣
Book 13/52 in 2025 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Mistborn: The Final Empire by Brandon Sanderson It took me a little while to get my footing in the world, but once I did, I flew through it. The magic system, the twists, and the characters had me hooked. And I’m already halfway through book number two!
Books 11 & 12/52 in 2025 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Paladin’s Hope ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Paladin’s Faith both by T. Kingfisher Wrapped up the Saint of Steel. Such an enjoyable series overall and I’ll be eagerly waiting for more. Next up: I’m diving into the Cosmere, and I can’t wait!
Spent most of the week at a conference in San Antonio. The early tease of spring was so nice, and I’m patiently waiting for it at home.
Book 11/52 in 2025 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Curse of Scales & Flame by Max Walker Gay + dragons should be right up my alley, but something was missing. I just didn’t connect with it as much as I hoped. Still, an interesting read. On to book 12!
Book 10/52 in 2025 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Paladin’s Strength by T. Kingfisher This series has me in a chokehold, and I’m not even mad about it. A broody paladin with a soft heart and a badass nun with a secret join forces on a mission with action, humor, and romance all wrapped up in one. On to book 11!
Book 9/52 in 2025 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Paladin’s Grace by T. Kingfisher A hot paladin that knits socks? What’s not to love? This book has action, romance, humor, and that Kingfisher charm. Such fun characters in another fantastic read. On to book 10!
Always feels good to cast on a new project. Even though gauge swatching is the hardest part to get through for me 😅
Book 8/52 in 2025 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Paleontologist by Luke Dumas A supernatural dinosaur murder mystery? Sign me up. This one was an interesting blend of mystery, horror, and science and was darker than I expected. Some creepy twists kept me hooked. On to book 9!
Book 7/52 in 2025 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Swordheart by T. Kingfisher I loved this one! This is the second Kingfisher book I’ve read, and her stories feel like finding a hidden door in a house I thought I knew - familiar yet full of surprises. Witty, warm, and wonderfully weird in all the best ways. On to book 8!

Book 6/52 in 2025 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman The mystery was clever and kept me guessing, and the characters were fun. Reminded me a little bit of Only Murders in the Building, which I also loved. On to book 7!
Book 5/52 in 2025 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Novice Dragoneer by E.E. Knight A book about a dragon rider academy sounds right up my alley, but it was a bit slow and it didn’t fully grab me. Some fun moments, especially in the last few chapters, but overall just okay. On to book 6!
Book 4/52 in 2025 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Onyx Storm by Rebecca Yarros I really enjoyed this one! It felt much more streamlined than Iron Flame, making for a smoother, faster-paced read. Some questions were answered and it left many more. And talk about cliffhanger ending! On to book 5!
Book 3/52 in 2025 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Cubs & Campfires by Dylan Drakes I loved this one! Such a cute read with sexy bear and cub representation. The playful banter and heartfelt moments made it really fun. It was equal parts sweet and steamy 🥵. On to book 4!
Book 2/52 in 2025 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Botanical Daughter by Noah Medlock I really liked this queer, macabre story with Gothic Frankenstein vibes. It was beautifully written and so haunting in the best way. The blend of nature and the dark undertones made it such a memorable read! On to book 3!
Book 1/52 in 2025 Kingdom of Ash by Sarah J. Maas ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I started the Throne of Glass series in 2024 and this was an epic conclusion. I wish more risks were taken, but it was full of moments that kept me hooked. A great start to my year of reading. On to book 2!

I’m not really one for New Year’s resolutions, but I did set a reading goal for 2025: 52 books, an average of one per week! I’m right on track so far. Can’t wait to dive into new stories and series. I read many genres, but really lean in to Sci-Fi and Fantasy. Any recommendations to add to my list?
