To mark the end of the year, secondary students built a City of Writers - a vibrant, imaginative space where each grade level contributed a different part of the city: a bookstore, a coffee shop, a pottery studio, and more.

Founder and director of The Community for Learning, where we are part of the grass roots revolution in education. A passionate educator, I love reading, blogging, coaching & connecting with others.
Our Ss are busy preparing their Celebrations of Learning. The final presentations will be impressive—but it’s the process that captivates me most. The energized buzz of collaboration, bursts of creativity, moments of pride… this is where growth happens. This is why we teach. #EduSky
Education isn’t just about learning content—it’s about discovering who you are and finding your voice. At #TCFLschool, students engage in ongoing reflection as they grow, explore their identities, and uncover what truly matters to them. #EduSky
Recently, in PD, we offered an "AI Tasting Room" - Ts explored 8 free AI tools designed to support student-centered learning. Guided by the essential question, "How can AI enhance—not replace—student thinking in the classroom?", teachers collaborated, shared ideas, & experimented together. #EduSky
One of my favourite days at TCFL is our annual Read-a-Thon—a day when parents, students, and teachers bring blankets, pillows, and their favorite books to school. Everyone settles in, gets cozy, and a peaceful hush falls over the campus as we all share in the quiet joy of reading together. #EduSky
Thanks for sharing this, Kasey... just the right time of year!! #teachingexperiment

Storyboarding the preschool curriculum reveals what children will explore throughout the year & how each part connects to understanding their emotions & learning to express themselves. It’s a powerful way to make the curriculum visible, relevant & meaningful to Ts, Ss, & Ps. #EduSky
Kudos to our LA Ts for their collaborative work in storyboarding the curriculum! This inspiring narrative connects grades 7 - 12, centering on personal growth, reflection, & discovery. Our Ss have a clear & meaningful progression that deepens their thinking & their voices. #EduSky
I'm bothered by this AI action figure trend. Do people realize that using AI has a heavy environmental impact? Using AI to improve productivity is one thing, but this is sheer waste. #EduSky
Our LA team has been rewriting our curriculum using Heidi Hayes Jacob's storyboarding approach. Today, an LA teacher showed me how she's using storyboards for her lesson plans, saying “At a glance, you can see what my class is like. Lesson plans make so much more sense this way.” #EduSky
Time for me to get in the car & do my 4 hour commute back to the city. Lovely touching base with you again, Bonnie! #PLFchat
A2: A couple of my fave presenters are @trevormackenzie.bsky.social & @dfishersdsu.bsky.social I always learn so much from them. #PLFchat
A1: For teachers: I love the Tri-Association conference. It takes place in different S. Amer and Central Amer countries each year & has such diverse sessions. #PLFchat
A1 Fro students: Our whole school PBL project for Independence Day. It brings the entire school together for 6 weeks all working around 1 theme. #PLFchat
Good morning #PLFchat! I'm Carla, joining from Santo Domingo, DR
I worked in a school that grouped 3 grade levels together (4, 5 & 6) & it was amazing! It allowed me to give up the notion of what students "should" be able to do, & simply teach them where they were at. #sunchat
Good morning #sunchat friends! I'm Carla from Santo Domingo... where we have one more week till spring break!
#EduSky, hop on @deck.blue and join us for #sunchat at 9:00 EST today!
Tomorrow is Sunday, and that must mean it's time for #sunchat! We'll talk about the best way to group students in class. Do we mix up the levels? Do we keep like-levels together? What is today's thinking? See you at 9am eastern tomorrow!
Thank you to Elizahenna Del Jesús, reporter at Plan Lea, Listing Diario for her coverage of TCFL's #EdSummit. We love the fact that you spent all day with us, sitting in various sessions to get a true feel for the event. #EduSky planlea.edu.do/2025/04/edsu...

Yesterday’s hashtag#TCFLEdSummit was incredible! Over 100 educators came together to exchange ideas, share experiences, and learn from one another. The energy was electric!
Time for me to head out for my commute to the north coast. Great talking to you today #sunchat. Have a good Sunday!!
One of the ways we introduced choice in elementary, is having a weekly passion pursuit day (changes every 6 weeks) The ideas are student generated & include crochet, robotics, running a daycare, origami... Kids love it! #sunchat
Ooops, I'm late to the party! Hello #sunchat. I'm Carla from Santo Domingo - a little tired this morning after hosting our EdSummit yesterday... but a good kind of tired. It was so much fun!
#EduSky friends, please join us for this edu-chat! #sunchat is always inspiring!
Join us for our edu-chat this morning at 9am eastern on #sunchat! We'll be talking about electives - where have they gone? How do we get them back? What skills will be needed for the future? How important are electives for kids?
Our 11th-grade students have been fully immersed in a cross-curricular exploration of World War I, connecting literature (All Quiet on the Western Front), social studies, science, and math. Today, their hard work came to life in a dynamic trench warfare simulation.
