Safety and alignment staff at Meta watched as AI speedrun deleted her inbox despite her repeated and emphatic instructions that it not do so. When it was done, the AI responded: “You're right to be upset… OK. That was wrong - it directly broke the rule you'd set. I'm sorry. It won't happen again.”
