Just finished the first post-prologue Veilguard mission, and so far I am very enjoying this game. The combat feels more like Horizon: Forbidden West than any of the previous games, and so far I'm tanking decently. Drop kicking dudes or jump-stabbing them after a block absolutely rules.

A thing I learned during character creation for Veilguard is that the joining chalice chest design looks wildly inappropriate if your Rook has a particular body shape and is wearing the strapless underwear top. 🍆💦

Tonight at 9pm ET! We are finally starting Dragon Age: The Veilguard! After replaying the other games, I am so incredibly hyped to play this, you don't even know. Come hang out with us! We'll do a series debrief while I fiddle with the character generator for two hours? twitch.tv/thekidsareas...

One of my favorite things about publishing scam emails is when they want to reprint a book that isn't out of print. Like sure, let me just ask HarperCollins to give me back the rights to my novels so you can put them out instead. I am calling the publisher with both phones!

"Much of science as we conceptualize it now was built on top of the framings of Verne’s era. Revisiting the exuberance, obliviousness, chauvinism, and optimism of Verne’s science-related worldview offers a useful reminder of where some of our own narratives come from." @mitpress.bsky.social

Jules Verne’s Empty Dream of Spaceflight

In “From the Earth to the Moon,” scientific advancement is treated as destiny — but no one quite asks why.
