anger about antiblackness isnt a personal grievance just bc im fucking bored or whatever my god its a SYSTEMIC problem that yt ppl participate in whether they own up to it or not. and whatever, call it "targeted" bc i have the language to call ppl on the shit they do PUBLICLY

but if ur a bad writer intent on fetishizing bigotry as necessary to emphasize one's queerness then maybe that's compelling bc ur just recreating ur blorbos in ur own image 🙂

if u can come around super easily to justifying misogynistic behavior by "making it queer" bc it's "ur precious blorbo" then u Actually dont really gaf about misogyny nor the harmful implications of conflating queer masculinity With misogyny

20s is kind of fucked because you try to set boundaries and everyone and their dog makes you out like the most evil person in the world for trying to have boundaries and then it's ingrained in you that if you try to set boundaries ever you're the problem

or mostly just becomes love triangle tension for darem. sam gets Rebooted to have a white dad in her storyline. a lot of this is just every character is underdeveloped and the ensemble is poorly handled overall. but Not One black mc has another black mc as their strongest connection

thok Literally Disappears from the show. the chancellor's feelings about caleb matter more than caleb's feelings about, well, Anything. and a lot of caleb's screentime is him enduring microaggressions and just straight up aggressions from his white gf. jayden is regularly sidelined 1/2

also i dont vibe with Literally Every Single black character being saddled with either a white love interest or a white pseudo parent (or both in caleb's case) like it just feels Off and it Stands Out to me

and Again academy uses the diversity of its cast to distract from the harmful things it normalizes: a carceral academic institution, the unchallenged existence of a "war college", automatic dismissal of critique of institutional violence, white saviorism, extremely placative politic framed as "hope"

"it's my style!" well your style sucks ass then "you just dont understand art fundamentals/color theory!" nah it seems like You dont understand Values brush up on That "youre assuming the worst in me!" well, your response proves i was right to so...

"there was no valid criticism! everyone who hated it was a troll or bigot!" nooo u just lend more credence to a brick wall than u do Actual black ppl with Concerns about the rhetoric being presented to them. bc it doesnt feel good to realize u have the same blind spots the show does

yeah im Really Distraught that they canceled the show that had the white villain riff off of the real life language of Black liberation only to shut down the validity of his anger and criticisms....what a loss i mean gosh that sure is the rhetoric i wanna see on tv that sure is the Hope i believe in
