#CaptainEasy shows his stuff in a fun #SundayPage - I could easily see Tintin pulling this move in one of his earlier books. #RoyCrane #comicsky #newspapercomics #sundayfunnies

Jeered by the Mogul and the crowd, Easy faces the tiger. He rolls a tear gas grenade so that it explodes in the animal’s face, and then lassos the helpless animal, hoists it up, and ties a knot in its tail. The enraged Mogul orders him to be chained up again in spite of his promise to set Easy free

Here’s another #CaptainEasy #SundayPage - in which the Great Mogul flexes with a daring feat of animal homicide, prompting Easy to promise a much better feat in the following strip! #RoyCrane #comicsky #newspapercomics #sundayfunnies

#SquareboundSaturday time! Who’s got a cool square to share? Found a comic shop going out of biz in 2003 & loaded up on 60s marvel - got the backbone of my Thor run that day. He threw this in free bc it’s missing the back cover. #comicsky #comicbooks #GuardiansoftheGalaxy #MarvelComics #squarebound

In the arena, the Great Mogul stands fast and kills the tiger with his sword as the tiger springs on him. When the Mogul demands that Easy surpass this, Easy says he will tie a knot in a living tiger’s tail using only a piece of rope and “two metal balls” taken from him earlier

Today’s #CaptainEasy #SundayPage brings easy and the Great Mpgul face to face. Roy Crane really excelled at comical interactions like Easy being bathed and perfumed. #RoyCrane #comicsky #newspapercomics #sundayfunnies

Easy is bathed and perfumed, and then brought with great ceremony before the Great Mogul, who sits on the belly of an obese enslaved man, in the center of an arena. The Mogul informs Easy that they will be comparing their martial skills. A tiger is released

A #CaptainEasy #SundayPage for your Tuesday. Orientalist tropes turned up to eleven, but man is it beautifully drawn 🤯 #RoyCrane #comicsky #newspapercomics #sundayfunnies

If you love comics and you’re not reading #FlashGordon by @danschkade.bsky.social every day, you are therefore missing a reliable portion of happiness and satisfaction every day. Happiness and satisfaction are not in generous enough supply at the moment so get after it

A textless high-res version of panel four, for the dictator-punching enthusiasts in the audience:

Went to see Endgame Encore last night. The new scenes were 🤷‍♂️ but wow, what a great movie. Haven’t seen it in like 5 years and I enjoyed it so much. The MCU after this has had some real highs, but there’s been so much of it that didn’t quite land with me that I’d forgotten how much I loved this. Wow

I won’t get to the final episode until after tonight, but my expectations are low. My line on Lanterns is that Lanterns is a Green Lantern show in the same way that orange LaCroix is orange soda. You can very faintly detect some trace essences of orange in the flavor but it is not orange soda.

It would have been an excellent show for the Question, both of them. As a Green Lantern show, it's just ... why? They had the entire toychest and decided "We're going to make one of the most overtly powerful DC characters with very flamboyant powers into True Detective."

#SquareboundSaturday is here again! Got a cool square to share? I’m going with Daredevil King-Size Special #1. NOT A SINGLE REPRINT! i think Electro was probably less intimidated by the level of his teammates here than on the Sinister Six #comicsky #comicbooks #Daredevil #MarvelComics #squarebound

Quite apart from whatever threat of violence is or is not possible here, there’s a lot of horror in realizing that your formerly useful hand is now a squat for a bunch of angry jerks you’re going to have to feed and care for or else they die and your hand gets all corpsey 😬

Going back to 1944 for #WowWhatACover #8! Wings Comics #44. Cover by Art Saaf. I don’t know much about war books but this one just grabbed me and wouldn’t let go. The powerful composition, limited palette, and insane depth of field, just a knockout. #comicsky #comicbooks

WOW WHAT A COVER #7 I haven’t done a #WowWhatACover post in a while but Wow! What a goldarn cover. Bought at a small St Louis comic show many years ago, it still bugs my eyes out when I come across it. #comicsky #comicbooks #FantasticFour #SilverSurfer #JackKirby #MarvelComics

Another #CaptainEasy #SundayPage with 30s globetrotting vibe and gorgeous, bold color design. #RoyCrane #comicsky #newspapercomics #sundayfunnies

Easy lands his biplane on a mountain ledge, dons native garb, and climbs down to begin walking across the plains. Joining a caravan, he enters a walled city, but he’s been observed all along and his plane now lies in wreckage

Here’s a #CaptainEasy #SundayPage for you all. It being 1933 and all, full orientalist tropes/stereotypes are on full display. A busy page by Crane’s standards, but a lot of great little moments. #RoyCrane #comicsky #newspapercomics #sundayfunnies

Very colorful page has many panels illustrating Captain Easy’s flight across China to Turkestan. We see him interacting with locals, getting fired upon, flying over snowy peaks, and throwing an entire city into panic.
