Over the past two days, I’ve been to every single ward in our city - all 24 of them! I’ve chatted with young people, parents, seniors, and small business owners about my plan for Ottawa, and I’ve listened, as I have for my whole career, to their priorities.
My final stop of the #24in48 tour is in Alta Vista ward. I had a wonderful visit with my Mom. We talked with other residents about our wonderful city, and how my Mom’s family was able to build a life here when they were new arrivals to Canada.
As the #24in48 tour continues, Ginny and I have been knocking on doors in Rideau-Rockcliffe ward. It was great to visit with former Canadian Prime Minister Jean Chretien. Thank you for all you've done for our country, and for your support in my re-election campaign!
As the #24in48 tour continues, Ginny and I stopped by Windsor Park in Capital Ward. My plan for all of Ottawa includes fully funding the municipal portion of the Windsor Park Field House.
It was a beautiful day in the ByWard Market! Ginny and I enjoyed meeting residents and stopping by local businesses like Lowertown Brewery. I’m going to continue supporting hospitality jobs by permanently removing patio fees for restaurants in the Market and throughout Ottawa.
Ginny and I stopped by Orléans Fruit Farm in Orléans West-Innes to pick up some fresh apples to make apple crisp! It’s great to support our local farmers and enjoy everything this season has to offer.

Stopped by the Gailea Momolu Courtyard Skate Park in Beacon Hill-Cyrville ward to see the new space named after Gailea, a local skateboarding star and the inspiration behind this park.
We bought our Halloween pumpkin at Ferme Proulx et Érablière’s 32nd Annual Pumpkin Fest in Orléans South-Navan! Our rural communities and local farmers are such an important part of Ottawa.
It was so much fun to stop by The Forge Pickleball and speak with players participating in their international tournament in Orléans East-Cumberland ward!

As our final stop on Day 1 of the #24in48 tour, I’m in Somerset Ward at Good Neighbour where I’m watching the Senators game with fans! Local businesses are at the heart of our neighbourhoods.
I enjoyed stopping by Riverside Pub and chatting with the owners and patrons ahead of the pub’s 30th anniversary on October 31. We talked about the importance of keeping taxes low and making it easier for local businesses to get ahead and my plan to maintain the small business property tax reduction
We need to improve and enhance our community spaces. Here in Gloucester-Southgate ward, I’ve committed to upgrading and rehabilitating the Sawmill Creek Recreation Centre. Recreation centres bring people together, give kids a place to play and help residents of all ages stay active.
I just wrapped up my latest stop on the #24in48 tour, in College ward, with a visit to the Algonquin College LRT Station. I’ve heard from families, students and seniors who are watching every dollar.
My latest stop in the #24in48 tour is the Dussehra and Ravan Dahan Festival in Barrhaven West, where I had a chance to speak with residents. The excitement was contagious and reminds me of how incredible it is to be able to celebrate these traditions together in our multicultural city.
At the Ravines Retirement residence in Knoxdale-Merivale ward, I had a chance to meet with so many seniors who helped build Ottawa and have given so much to our city. My plan is built around protecting and enhancing our quality of life and keeping Ottawa affordable.

For my latest stop on the #24in48 tour, I visited the Farm Boy in Stittsville and caught up with Omar Gaber, the young entrepreneur behind ChewyPuff Cookie. I first met Omar a few years ago. He’s so talented and determined.
It’s so important to make time for our families without worrying about the cost of every activity. It was great to stop by Mini Space Kids Club in Kanata North and speak with families about keeping life affordable.
It’s always a pleasure to support local businesses, like the Ottawa Bagelshop here in Kitchissippi ward. I know how much small businesses contribute to our neighbourhoods and our local economy, and I’m focused on helping them succeed.
I grew up in Bay Ward and spent many hours of my childhood in this park. The first stop on my tour of all 24 wards this weekend was a fantastic run through the area, right past the house where I grew up.
Ottawa is a vast, diverse and beautiful city covering 2,800 square kilometres. Over the next two days, I’m excited to visit every one of our 24 wards in my #24in48 tour.
Ottawa can’t afford to take a step backwards or gamble with its future. This isn’t the time for risky promises or uncertainty. I’ve presented a clear plan to keep taxes low and build on the progress we’ve made.
