I'm going to hold your hand when I say this. The first Alan Wake. It was atrocious. It was tired with Stephen King references, and a story that was severely lacking. I didn't care for it. At all. The second game, however, was excellent.

As a souls/souls like creators when I started my journey with the souls game I had SO MANY PEOPLE in my ear asking me: "How did you beat this boss?" "Did you cheese it?" My answer, I enjoyed the game. It gave me a new lease on life (Dark Souls truly did).

I'm thinking a lot on Spider-Man: Brand New Day and I think this is the most realistically human experience for Spider-Man I've ever seen. Cretton brings out the struggles we all face, and melds it beautifully in symbiotic relationship with grief, and existing as both a person and a hero.
