So @lisamtp.bsky.social and eldest kid like to go antique browsing. On their last couple trips they found lithographs by Alexander Calder and Roy Lichtenstein, so our living room is pretty damn cool right now.

I'm not paying for a ticket for "One Night Only." But everything I've read about it (god the reviews are fun!) makes me think there's an Earth-6 version that looks like an underlit early '00s indie, has a scene where the leads excise their trackers, features an underground sex resistance, etc.
We have a new Disney ride show (or at least a pilot): "Spaceship Earth," which will sci-fi up the EPCOT attraction. Fun fact: Writer/showrunner Jason Fuchs also wrote an ABC pilot based on the Big Thunder Mountain ride in the 2010s.

'IT: Welcome to Derry' co-showrunner Jason Fuchs is writing the project, which has a pilot order.

Lots of "let's remember some shows" material in this shot. Raines! Kidnapped/Vanished! Justice!
This shot in the trailer for Primetime is bringing me back. This would be fall 2006, my first year covering TV for IGN. This is when The CW launched, as shows like Supernatural (WB) and Veronica Mars (UPN) moved to their new home. But who the hell left the S off the end of Survivor: Cook Islands!?
One of the keys to writing about ratings all the time is to find a little bit of trivia or an odd factoid to make it a little more interesting (for both you and me) than just "this same show was at the top again." Such a thing presented itself this week. Read and subscribe, wontcha?
Weekly on-air ratings, July 27-Aug. 2: A 'Millionaire'-to-one coincidence
It's another ho-hum summer period on traditional TV.

I had assumed/convinced myself this was a limited series, but that phrase never appears in Peacock's press info so that's a me problem. Anyway it's done quite well, so on to season 2.
‘The Five Star Weekend’ Renewed for Second Season at Peacock
The pickup comes after the Jennifer Garner-led series drew strong viewing numbers.

Paramount Skydance CEO and heir apparent David Ellison is very upset that the media landscape can see right through him.

TBH I almost applaud NBC and the "Voice" producers' restraint for not going to the celeb well before now. (Keke is hosting, btw, not competing)
Celebrity ‘Voice’ Season Set for 2027 on NBC
Keke Palmer will host the new iteration of the singing competition, with Joe Jonas, Queen Latifah and Riley Green sitting in the coaches' chairs.

The shows you would expect - "Stranger Things," "The Pitt," "Bluey" - are indeed the most streamed ones of the first half of 2026. Fresh numbers from Nielsen here.
‘Stranger Things’ and ‘The Pitt’ Were the Most Streamed Original Series in the First Half of 2026
'Bluey' continues to rule the library series chart, and 'Zootopia 2' leads all movies.

So it's an even-ish height matchup, let's get this jagoff on the court with Arike Ogunbowale, first to 11, make it/take it.
Ben Shapiro spends his entire show mocking the WNBA and its players. Including a montage his team put together of missed shots at the All-Star game which he laughs at. It's incredible how much transphobia can just let you be an open misogynist.
I am not deep in the Marvel trenches, and I understand that the season told a more or less complete story. But "Wonder Man" was VERY well-reviewed and did decently well ratings-wise. Don't really get this.
‘Wonder Man’ Un-Renewed at Disney+, No Season 2 Coming
The Marvel series scored a now rescinded pickup in March.

I have talked a lot about how the 2004-05 season was the last great burst of network TV, and I truly believe that. But it was also the season of "The Contender"/"Next Great Champ," "Father of the Pride," "Wife Swap," "Quintuplets" and "The Mountain." Multitudes contained and whatnot.
I bet this is the only story about Mike Darnell signing a Netflix deal that has a brief recounting of the mid-aughts dustup between Fox and NBC over their competing boxing competition shows. Reader, I was there.

Third time's a charm, I guess? After the '90s TGIF series, there have been two tries in recent years to mine the "Clueless" IP, including a version of what Paramount+ just picked up at Peacock. Story from @katiekilkenny.bsky.social
‘Clueless’ Sequel Series Moving Forward at Paramount+
The follow-up to the 1995 cult classic will once again star Alicia Silverstone and be written by the creators of ‘The O.C.’ and ‘Gossip Girl’ as well as the writer of ‘Freakier Friday.’

After my parents were visiting set for the first time, I asked my dad what he thought. He said “I didnt realize, it’s like you’re building a house, and once an hour good looking people run in and put on a play for five minutes. Then they leave and you go back to construction.”
People think "Hollywood" is rich and famous. The reality? Film and TV is a national industry. It's a blue collar industry. And it is an industry free fall.
