We invite all outstanding female scientists within the DGfI to apply for a nomination this year. Application deadline: May 30, 2026 EFIS is once again awarding the Ita Askonas Prize for outstanding female scientists this year. Nominations must be submitted exclusively by an EFIS member society, which may submit up to three candidates. Nominations submitted independently without the endorsement of an EFIS member society will not be considered. Last year, the DGfI Commission for Equal Opportunities and Career Advancement decided to invite applications this year so that every interested female scientist has the opportunity to apply. Therefore, we hereby invite all outstanding female scientists within the DGfI to apply for a nomination this year. Application deadline: May 30, 2026 Requirements are: Group leadership experience of at least 4 years, maximum 10 years Membership in the German Society for Informatics (DGfI) for at least 1 year The application should be submitted in English and include the following: ✅ Letter of Motivation (including original research contribution, innovations of mentorship of early-career scientists) ✅ CV ✅ List of publications (distinguished between a) original research papers, b) review and book chapters, c) Editorials, no conference abstracts) ✅ Separate list of five most significant publications (brief explanation of why they consider each publication important) Tabular form: 1. Year the candidate established its own laboratory 2. Year of PhD/MD completion 3. Number of supervised MSc and PhD students 4.
