Nightbeast (1982) was fun in an extremely specific way that i enjoyed even though i wouldn't recommend it to most people. I fucking love creature movies that have an alien smart enough to shoot guns and fly a spaceships but just growl and indiscriminately murder people as soon as they're loose

every time i watch someone play any game known for being Epic Gamer Hard there's always at least one person in chat speaking with perfect capitalization and punctuation about how they beat boss #4 in way less time than the streamer and that its not even the hardest boss.

i hate the constant loop of just being right back to feeling bored + mildly sad and without purpose as soon as i no longer have an active drawing/project/etc. to distract me

I think a lot about that scene in the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre where Leatherface is visibly distressed and looking out the window and sitting with his head in his hands because he doesn't know where the hell all these college kids are coming from and he's gonna get in trouble if he slips up

its crazy when you're looking at a couple shots of a newer movie you're considering watching and you can tell right away that it was shot on actual film

deleted the last post because it turned out it was just my browser being fucky with youtube for some reason and i didn't wanna spread misinfo. youtube is still a giant vibe coded piece of shit though

morbidly curious to see how geoff keighley will try and pretend the aaa game industry isn't an actual corpse being dragged on strings at this year's TGAs

i know everyone's talking about it anyways but it's kinda fucking insane just seeing the entire studio game industry getting essentially sacrificed to Line Go Up - like I think this is the first time its felt that we are genuinely on the brink of the big crash

i've previously spoken about my disdain for cozy games (not on a conceptual/fundamental level but as Forced Marketable Genre with a cookie-cutter identity) but i've noticed they've literally just started jamming 'Cozy' into the titles now and that perturbs me

i feel like a decent chunk of game devs fall into a trap of over-explaining things because they're afraid the viewer "won't get it" - but imo i think a game that i don't get but clearly has an intent behind it is way more interesting than a game that caves my skull in with the messaging at minute 1

i was playing some re-like indie game recently and every readable file was someone's sad story and then i walked by a bookcase and all the books were 'dealing with trauma' 'coping with loss' and i was just like 'okay got it' and never picked it up again because that was the first 15 minutes

something i think about a lot is how for every individual porn artist/viewer i feel like there's a certain individual threshold of how much indulgence it can have before it begins to look like Looney Tunes Slapstick to you

i wanted to actually maybe do things on my week's break between illustrations but it's so goddamn hot i feel like i'm just going to be laying around and napping for a lot of it

everyone's talking about it but i can only shrug at the sony news between this and 'no more multiplatform releases', not because i think it's okay or anything but because all the AAAA platform exclusive games look like boring carefully marketed bullshit i can live without anyways

it would be extremely funny if retailers gave new consoles the Saturn treatment (not stocking the console at all out of spite) for essentially fucking them out of physical game sales
