Day twenty-six of #mechtober #battletech and second day of character week is the ilKhan Alaric Ward. It is a very hard sell to make me care about anything Clan Wolf, and that is no different with the various portrayals of Alaric. But I am excited by the "you won, now what?" concept he is now in.

Today's #mechtober topic is the queen of #battletech herself, the Black Widow, Natasha Kerensky. Mercenary, misfit, criminal, warrior, leader, incomparable rage-baiter, she struck fear in the hearts of everyone she faced on the battlefield. She died at age 84... in mech combat.

I have scarcely ever seen imposter syndrome portrayed this well in a single screenshot 🤣

Light mechs are my second-favourite weight class to play in #battletech, after heavy. Fast, agile, and each built for a niche within their tight construction limits, if you field a light mech with purpose it can punch far above its weight. These nimble little guys are the stars of #mechtober today!

Today's #battletech #mechtober topic is protomechs. Unfortunately, I don't know anything about them. So instead I'm going to post about my all-time favourite, the legendary Marauder! I know it's not exactly an original choice. I'll be taking no criticism for being 'basic' at this time.

Now I wonder if I really deserve the pirate flags in my handle.

We found that as of right now 73% of your campaign donation goes back to the consultants and vendors (!!!), four times more than just 20 years ago. Only 13% to ads. Even I was shocked.

It's heavy mech day for #battletech #mechtober! Heavy is my favourite class to play in tabletop and in video games. This is the weight class where a lot of doors open in terms of build versatility. Here are five of five of my favourites: Catapult, Grand Dragon, Black Knight, and Warhammer.

Tonight's progress on the Wind Voyager I'm building for @megancutler.bsky.social's Christmas present. We have mechanical movement!

75-25 demolishing for the separatist cause in the Alberta referendum. The first of hopefully many votes Donald Trump and Elon Musk are about to lose.

Today's #battletech topic for #mechtober isn't a weight class, but a mech type: the Clan-original omnimech. I picked one of my favourite Clan omnis in each weight class: the Kit Fox(L), Ice Ferret(M), Mad Dog(H), and Dire Wolf(A), along with the first* original Inner Sphere omni, the heavy Avatar.

#mechtober day 19 is all about assault mechs! The kings of the battlefield. If you love "big stompy mechs," these are the biggest and stompiest. Here are some of my favourite #battletech assault mechs! Supernova, Nightstar, Highlander, Hatamoto-chi (Shin variant), Cyclops

Today's #battletech #mechtober topic is medium mechs! Medium is probably my least-favourite weight class to play out of the four, but there's still lots to love. Here are four of my favourite mediums. I've got a Nightsky from the Kell Hounds Striker Lance box that I'm looking forward to painting!

Bubblegum Crisis is such a crazy series. How dare a show make me cry over lesbian vampire sexbot succubi from space who want to just be lesbians but industrial capitalism won't let them. Anyway that was episode 6.

ISP says I need to be logged into their SUPER CONVENIENT HIGH TECH APP tomorrow for the tech to set up the new router. Install the app. Log in successfully. Home screen is a blank page with red text "Something went wrong." Great app that I am required to use.

Today's #battletech #mechtober topic is @michaelastackpole.bsky.social, one of my most personally influential authors. His were the very first books I read without pictures, and the Blood of Kerensky trilogy and Rogue Squadron novels lit my brain on fire with love of sci-fi, space, and adventure.

The view from my desk this morning. A great way to start the work day with a bit of awe and gratitude.

People ask why I only seem to watch old anime. The truth is, I wish I could watch more new stuff. But I feel like I've seen 90% of what's out there in the last decade without having to watch it? There are rare gems out there, but it takes so much work sifting through the twelve-and-done slop series.

The final results! Love the colour on this. The smokiness is perfect from the 50/50 cherry and hickory blend. Hot enough to make your lips tingle, but more savoury, fruity, and a little bit sweet. Probably my favourite batch of my favourite recipe so far!
