While exploring in the blocks the children enjoyed using the Kapla blocks to create “hotels”. There were lots of discussions about where the hotels were built “America” and “Barrhead”.

We have been exploring symmetry in the creative area this week. We have enjoyed creating symmetrical pictures using paint and folding paper🎨.
During group play the children enjoyed using the Muga to develop their gross motor skills through running , jumping ,stretching and crawling
Children in the Willow room enjoyed listening to the Monkey Puzzle story. They used finger puppets to retell the story and were able to share their thoughts when making predictions. 🐒🦜🐍
The children in Madras have been exploring Autumn colours while developing their mark making skills. A provocation was set up to promote writing, using hand-eye coordination and identifying letters in the letter tree. They have loved it! 🍂 🤎 #markmaking #creativity #autumn #learning #ELC
We have been mark making, we loved the paint. We used paint brushes and explored with our hands creating some amazing pictures.
This week we have been having ‘birthday parties’ in the home corner, which has included some ‘face painting’! We have absolutely loved using different brushes to paint each other’s faces, so much fun 🥰🎉🎨 #roleplay #creativityandimagination
We had ‘Rose Dough’ today! We all worked together to cut up the petals, leaves and stems ✂️ We made so many different things! We had lots of birthday cakes with candles on them, and we loved rolling the playdough to see the petals mixed inside it! We loved the smell too 🌹✨ #sensoryplay
We had lots of sensory fun with some ‘Sand Dough’ today 🏝 We loved making sea shell cupcakes, and sand pizzas! We discussed how the dough felt, with some children saying “it’s cold”, “it feels like the beach”, and “it’s a little rough” 💭

The children had lots of fun exploring the woodland area. They collected sticks, stones and leaves to create transient art. “That’s me. I’m using two stones for my eyes”. 🌿🍁
We have been developing our fine motor skills the last couple of days doing some cross stitching 🧵 We have had to be very safe whilst using the needles, and really concentrate when threading them through the aida! We have made some lovely creations 🥰🌈
We found some sharks, so the children used their imagination to build a pond to keep the them in and added some fish! We then used the board to count the fish. 🐟 It was so fun!
We have loved playing with our Imaginative House this week! We have created a variety of families, scenarios and have even had some animals invade the house! So much lovely language, imagination and creativity used 🥰✨🏡💭

During group play we went into the forest. We loved using the wobbly walk and the hammock. At the end we had a fire and the boys listened carefully and stayed safe. Well done everyone!
