Looking forward to continuing this work through research, conservation, policy, climate resilience initiatives, fellowships, and collaborative projects. Always happy to connect with researchers, practitioners, institutions, and organizations working in these spaces.

I leave this program with a deeper appreciation for interdisciplinary thinking, stakeholder engagement, and the role of research in informing policy and practice.

2026 began quietly. No fireworks. No noise. No big resolutions. Just elephants, the lake and my camera with the hope to keep doing work that feels honest and grounded.

Happy to be selected as a 2025 Fisheries Opportunity Fund Fellow with the Fisheries Collaborative Program at @UC Santa Cruz. I will be conducting field research in Zanzibar, Tanzania, working alongside small-scale fishing communities to better understand how they engage with fisheries data.

I did it! I am now a certified SCUBA diver 🙌🏾 BIP Week 2025 was full of firsts. My first dives, my first time in gear, and my first time seeing marine life up close in their own world, at the bottom of the ocean.

Happy to join the 2025 Black in Marine Science Immersion Program as one of this year’s BIP Week Scholars. This program will allow me to earn my SCUBA certification and gain hands-on experience in marine restoration and ocean conservation.
