Campaign account for Jamie Dunphy for Portland City Council
@jamiedunphy.bsky.social - I'm not one of your constituents, but I do live in the metro area and loved you ideas on City Cast today. I love it when government actually does things! Good luck.
This week was about Fossil fuels in Portland. Here’s my Weekly Top Ten:
Go see more live music. Help opening for Mudhoney at Dante's. This crowd is very specific. I haven't seen a lot of stretched earlobes with a bald spot before, but I'm old now, so it tracks.
I've said this before and no one asked then either, but: downtown crows > Parkrose geese > Chapman swifts.
Dear everybody who tries to take a left turn off of Sandy Blvd: quit it.
I got recognized in public for the first time ever today. In fairness, the person was sitting next to me and literally reading the new @streetroots.bsky.social article about the city council and my goofy face was right there, but still! Neat! Thanks for the conversation Lucy!
We did it! It's a new day in Portland, and I'm feeling good.
Tomorrow afternoon, I'll be taking my official oath of office to represent East Portland in the new Portland City Council. Surreal. Watch it live starting at 1:00pm! www.youtube.com/live/ElHj4Vi...

Hey! 👋🏾 It's your incoming District 1 Portland City Councilors, Jamie, me and Loretta!!! 🫡🫶🏾 Today the entire council-elect had our orientation, and I'm so excited to start this journey alongside some really cool humans across the city who are passionate, smart, and ready to govern 💪🏾‼️
I admitted this to the group last night but...I don't own a working bicycle. The crowd didn't boo or throw things, luckily. But I don't think I can get away with it for too much longer... All joking aside I really had a great time with these folks and look forward to fighting alongside them.
A good turnout for last nights Bike Portland Happy Hour. It was nice to meet district 1 council member @jamiedunphy.bsky.social I feel he’s going to be a strong progressive champion for District 1. Thanks @jonathanmaus.bsky.social for all you do for the local cycling community.
As the most labor-endorsed incoming City Councilor, I decided it was important for me to be a card-carrying member of a union. I'm proud to be joining the American Federation of Musicians Local 99. Proud to stand with my fellow musicians and my entire labor family in the fight for workers!
I got interviewed by the legend Ken Boddie on KOIN 6's Eye on Northwest Politics! It's getting very real, y'all.
The professional political class in Portland has no idea what happens East of 82nd. We do though.
All year I was told by political talking heads that a "progressive can't win in district 1"... I knew they were wrong and I'm glad to prove it with my decisive win! I will work hard to bring East Portland's voice to the table so everyone can learn who we really are out here in the numbers. 💪🏾🫶🏾
I am honored to serve this community. Thank you everyone for your support and your patience. Let's do this thing!
Took 2-plus weeks but we've finally seen enough. Jamie Dunphy (District 1 / east Portland) and Eric Zimmerman (District 4 / west side) pick up the last two seats on the new 12-member Portland City Council. www.oregonlive.com/politics/202...
I can't think of a better way to honor Bob Salinger's legacy than by protecting West Hayden Island forever. Let's make this happen. www.wweek.com/news/2024/11...

I've been in DC for the last few days, and it makes me appreciate Portland that much more. However, the National Museum of African American History and Culture was worth the trip alone. I'm very glad to have gone prior to starting this next chapter of leadership in a very uncertain time.
I'm flying out of PDX this morning for the last trip of my day job, and wow does the new terminal live up to the hype! Beautiful!
