Modern Druids are often criticised for holding rituals at ancient monuments that had “nothing to do with the ancient Druids”. But does this criticism actually hold any weight? Or is it misunderstanding what modern Druidry is? Why do pagans love ancient monuments? www.patreon.com/mharastarlin...

There are many words in Welsh for butterfly. But my absolute favourite has to be: Glöyn Byw / Glöyn Fyw Literally translating to mean “living coal” or “living embers of lit coal”. It’s just so fitting and evocative. Fun to imagine butterflies as little fire sprites.

When someone demands that you dim your light because it makes them uncomfortable, remind them that it is, in actuality, their responsibility to buy a pair of sunglasses if your light is too bright for them to deal with. It is not your responsibility to diminish yourself for them.

Trioedd Ynys Prydein is a fascinating work of scholarship which explores the people and stories of Welsh literature in great breadth and depth. This class is both about exploring the Triads themselves, and about learning how to use Rachel Bromwich's book to its full advantage.

One of my favourite places in the whole world is under threat. And has been for years. Penrhos Coastal Nature Reserve in Caergybi / Holyhead. A large wooded area comprised of meadows, deciduous and coniferous woodland, bluebell beds, and fresh water habitats.

I was recently featured in a BBC radio documentary which explored modern Druidry. When the BBC social media pages shared about the documentary, the comments were flooded with all sorts of nastiness. But my inbox, instead, was flooded with love and support. What a dichotomy indeed.

What a week it has been! After almost 8 years of living in Chester…travelling back and forth to visit family on Anglesey, and missing home so very much… I am back on my island home! We moved back last Friday, and my heart is singing with joy 🥹 To this new chapter!
