I rewatched the Coen brothers last film as a duo, The Ballad of Buster Scruggs (2018). It's a pretty decent way to end their partnership. A little uneven but still very entertaining. 3.5/5

Now watching for the first time, The cult classic British tv series, The Prisoner (1967). I’m two episodes in and I’m really digging it.

Now spinning, Frank Sinatra's A Man Alone: The Words and Music of McKuen (1969). This is an album filled with pathos, beauty and insight, and Frankie, like always, sings with total conviction, but it's also a bit silly and dated. Totally worth listening.

Now spinning, Frank Sinatra - September of My Years (1965). This is an album that I can totally relate to. Recorded right as Frankie was turning 50. A beautiful concept album of ageing, self-reflection and nostalgia.

Let’s start the three day Labor Day weekend right. Now spinning, Frank Sinatra- The Concert Sinatra (1963). There is nothing better than a Nelson Riddle/ Frank Sinatra album.

Now spinning one of the greatest live albums ever, The Rolling Stones- Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out! (1970).

Now spinning the greatest pop/rock/jazz/soul album ever, Steely Dan - Aja (1977). An album that is sophisticated, cerebral and clever, yet also very warm. That’s the genius of Dan.

Now rewatching the last theatrical movie of the Coen brothers, Hail, Caesar! (2016). A wonderful love letter to classic Hollywood. Filled with a tremendous cast that are all on top of their game, especially, Brolin, who is perfect here. What an amazing run of movies by the boys. 4.5/5

Summer of popcorn doesn’t end until Labor Day, so now rewatching, Fate of The Furious (2017). Why do I love these stupid movies so much? Well because they are fun as hell.

Now rewatching, The Street Fighter (1974). I haven’t seen this over 20 years. I felt like watching some fun trash. This is one ultra violent movie! Bloody as hell!

I just rewatched, The Nightcomers (1972), with the great Marlon Brando. Wow this movie is wild. A sexy prequel to, Turn of the Screw. Made right before, The Godfather. Brando is brilliant but weird, and he has a ridiculous Irish accent. Costarring a very sexy, Stephanie Beacham.

As the summer of popcorn winds down, let’s revisit another Furious movie. Now rewatching, Furious 7 (2015).

Now spinning my favorite Bob Dylan album ever, Blood on the Tracks (1975). Released the year I was born. It’s crazy to think that Dylan’s 13th studio album would be his greatest work ever. Yet here we are.

Now spinning my favorite concept album ever, Frank Sinatra- Watertown (1970). This heartbreaking album about divorce always makes me cry. It’s a bittersweet masterpiece.

Now rewatching the Coen brothers - Inside Llewyn Davis (2015). As a huge Bob Dylan fan this movie hit the right spot. I love everything about this time and era. Very evocative. It’s got so much great music and atmosphere. It’s crazy how many masterpieces the Coen’s have. This a huge 5/5 for me.

Now watching on Svengoolie- Trilogy of Terror (1975).

NW- Let's Spend the Night Together (1982). The great Hal Ashby directed this fascinating concert film. Filmed right at the moment the Stones started looking older, except for Keef, who still looks cool as fuck. Mick is wearing bright white football-style tights with knee pads. Sure why not.

Now spinning, Rolling Stones- Metamorphosis (1975). A weird but wonderful compilation of non album songs. Weirdly enough this was both my introduction to a Stones album, and the spark that led to my obsession with them. I found this in my dad’s collection when I was kid and became obsessed with it.

Now spinning, The Rolling Stones- Blue & Lonesome (2016). Their only all covers studio album. Jesus, this record is great. This a full on blues album. Very fitting. Top tier groove. 5/5

Now spinning, The Rolling Stones - Sill Life (1981). A live album that sold really well but was trashed by almost every critic. You know what? Fuck them and the horse they rode in on. This is a perfectly fine live album.

Now rewatching, the Coen brothers' biggest hit, by a wide margin, True Grit (2010). This was a big moneymaker, and it's no wonder, because it's phenomenal, another masterpiece, and it's a remake of a John Wayne film, oh and it was rated PG-13. More people got to see it. Bridges is perfect. 5/5

Sure why not, now rewatching Fast & Furious 6 (2013). Summer of popcorn continues.

Now rewatching, the Coen bros, A Serious Man (2009). I consider this a masterpiece. An anxiety inducing marvel of a film. My fifth favorite movie of theirs. 5/5

Summer of popcorn continues with a rewatching of, Fast Five (2011). Dumb fun is what I ordered, and dumb fun is what I got. I enjoy the whole series.
