Eleven years ago this week, a corroded pipeline ruptured along the Gaviota Coast and spilled an estimated 450,000 gallons of crude oil into the Pacific. It killed marine life across 150 miles of coastline, devastated Chumash sacred waters, and shuttered local businesses.
