FB food memories: Just 54 lbs of 7 day cured, 10 hour applewood and cherrywood smoked bacon.

Just a husband, father and U.S. Navy veteran in wine country trying to navigate through life...
FB food memories: We had rotisserie baby back ribs on the menu. On the rare days when we didn’t sell out, the next day the back kitchen cooks would shred up all the meat and make that killer, spicy guacamole salsa for crew meal. With those black beans it was the perfect lunch
FB food memories: Deep fried pickles at a mom & pop pizza parlor about 10 minutes south of us. Great people. The pizza is just average, but those pickles ❤️
Sava and I dropped my wife at the train station, so I figured a chorizo breakfast burrito from the taqueria was in order.
I love that they made this Reacher spinoff. And yeah, she’s gorgeous, but she’s also an incredible character. Brawn, brains & beauty.
FB food memories: Rigatoni in homemade vodka sauce. The first of many times that my daughter asked me to make it for us after she’d tried it at Original Joe’s in the city.
FB food memories: I dare say one of my all time favorites. Slow roasted spicy cured pork belly braised with lentils, garlic, pepper and ground mustard. That is simply phenomenal. Wow.
FB food memories: I took my food out onto the patio and then went back in to grab my water. When I walked back out a customer asked “Are those garlic fries??? They smell great! I didn’t know you guys offered those!!” Me: “We don’t.” Sorry, not sorry 🤷♂️
2 portions went into the freezer, the third portion went into the convection oven low & slow. Yeah, that’s tasty stuff!
Scored this today at Costco. I’ll probably cut it into thirds, vacuum pack each chunk.
Faded memories are bizarre. I had Billy Joel playing a little while ago while doing dishes and suddenly remembered working on a scene with the Chewlies Gum Guy from Clerks. While we prepped he had Billy Joel playing and was telling me all about him.
FB food memories: Rudd Estate in Oakville. I’m glad that I notated that in my FB post because all the winery dinners/events are a blur. As my wife asks when we visit a winery, “You’ve cooked here, right?” Me: “I honestly don’t remember.” 🤷♂️
@cheftsonton.bsky.social how’s cooking going? How’s Astro? How’s your daughter enjoying college? My daughter officially starts her sophomore year next week. Would be great to see how your life is going…..
There’s a new documentary series about Extortion 17, but you’re required to sign up for Fox Nation. Fuck that. I’m sure they’ll fuck it up anyway.
Busy busy. I made enough sauce for 3 pans: one for my daughter and her roommates, one for us & my MIL, and one for our Coastie neighbors who just became first time grandparents! Perfect timing since they’re busy helping out their daughter & SIL.
FB food memories: Simple sausage & beef sauce, cheese & pasta. My wife & MIL are going back to see our daughter on Wednesday, help her with a few things. I told her I’d send a pan down that she can bake at home. Comfort food for her & her roommates.
FN food memories: two more sandwiches from that little walk up stand in the lobby of a Kaiser clinic. Truly great.
That is truly a phenomenal sandwich (only half is pictured)! From a deli, inside a Kaiser clinic, in a business park, off the beaten path. I love finding hidden gems.
My home for 4 years. She was such a great ship who is still patrolling the seas for the Polish Navy ⚓️❤️
I was about 5 seconds away from popping these open this morning but I thought maybe I should call my wife. I asked her are these Madeleines for us?! Her: No. Our daughter bought them for me to give to the doctor she shadowed over summer break! Oops. Well that was close 😂
FB food memories: Not the greatest pic, I know. Pulled pork cheesy potatoes tonight. Muenster, Havarti & Jack cheeses, plus about 3+ lbs of pulled pork. Delicious.
My wife shopped while I did my auditory testing at Costco. I asked her why she got these. Her response was “Well, football season has started!” ❤️❤️
Go home Pepperidge Farms, you’re drunk. Bring back the m’fkn Mint Brussels year round! Who TF is running your company??

FB food memories: Frittata for my wife’s workout group. Eggs, mushrooms, olives, red bell, spinach, green chiles, breakfast sausage, three different kinds of cheeses, artichoke hearts, Italian parsley and my own homemade bacon (crumbled on top).
Our daughter is all moved into her apartment (with 2 roommates). My grandfather started our annual family reunion here in the 50’s. So to her it’s like a home away from home. Here’s to her sophomore year of pre-med!
A few years ago me, my uncle Mike, cousin Kenny and Kenny’s friend (who spent the whole time getting seasick) chartered a boat out of Santa Cruz for some salmon fishing. Lines in the water by 6, caught our limit by 10. 25 lb average. Great effing day.
