🎬 Palestinian cinema has roots in the earliest history of filmmaking: the first known motion-picture footage was shot in Jaffa and Jerusalem in 1897. After the Nakba, Palestinian filmmaking developed in exile and underwent a breakthrough with the emergence of the revolutionary movement in the 1960s.
