What have badgers ever done for us? Well... quite a lot. Watch and share our new film, What Have Badgers Ever Done For Us?, and help us stand up for a future where badgers are valued not just for what they do for us, but simply because they are part of our natural world. Badgers Belong Here.

🦡 Who else is ready? Brocktober is almost here! 🍂🧡 October belongs to the badgers. And if you love this little badger as much as we do, you might want to keep your eyes peeled… we’ve been plotting something special with @forgottenpathfolklore, the artist behind the illustration. 👀🎨

The badger is one of the UK's most recognised and popular mammals, bringing pleasure to thousands of people and is a living symbol of the British countryside! 📷 @lightloops_naturephotography

🦡 Brocktober is nearly here... and so is our auction! 🍂 Whether you’re treating yourself, your home or buying a gift, every bid will support our work to protect badgers, their setts and their habitats across England and Wales. 👀 Keep your eyes peeled. The Brocktober Auction launches 2 October!

Badgers are proper socialites! Unlike many of their mustelid cousins, badgers live in large family groups called clans throughout their life. These usually include a dominant breeding pair and several extended family members. Think of them as the badger version of a bustling countryside commune!

High temperatures and little rainfall are giving our wild spaces and wildlife a tough time 😣🔥 Please remember to put a shallow dish of clean water in your gardens, allotments, driveways, local wild spaces, schools and workplaces this weekend💦🙏

You can't keep a badger from it's favourite food! Sluurp! (Did you know, earthworms are the core of the badger's diet, often by as much as 60%. In a single night, an adult badger may eat well over 200 worms!) 📷Chris - Badger Trust supporter

WALES IS MAKING PROGRESS. DON'T TAKE US BACKWARDS. Bovine TB is falling in Wales without the widespread badger culling seen in England. Wales has taken a different path. Let's keep it that way. KEEP WALES CULL FREE.

Badgers are social creatures and will bond with each other through actions such as grooming, playing or pressing their bottoms onto another badger in order to leave a scent mark on them! Find more facts about badgers on our website: buff.ly/3nb3zdo 📷@tesniward @badger_diaries

The badger can grow up to 1 metre in size and has loosely fitting skin, making it difficult for an antagonist to get a firm grip on the badger in a fight. A thick layer of fat under the skin develops during autumn for the badger to live off fat reserves when going into torpor during winter.

Would you know the signs of a blocked sett if you saw one? Blocked entrances. Fresh soil piled unnaturally. Bricks, timber, fencing or debris forced into sett holes. Would you know what to do next? Read the fact sheet and help protect our native wildlife: buff.ly/CNSsfll 🦡
