Dinner with Junior & his friend, a freshman at SUNY Maritime, was nice. But dropping him off was a trip. My mom got me into country music in the late 70s, in Staten Island of all places. She loved listening to Dolly, Tammy, Loretta, Kenny, George, & the Oak Ridge Boys. What I didn’t know then, at age 6-7, was how much “Jolene” spoke to her… & her decision to stay with a philandering husband.
