I feel like over the years I've seen so many iterations of the like "what if the game automatically adjusted to your gameplay and responded dynamically" take w/ games, now being speculated with ML, and like your just describing skill-based matchmaking against real people, play a pvp game people

Was reading a manga recently that decided to do the comic book thing of bolding arbitrary words in the sentence and man very few things make something immediately unreadable to me.

I've been on a light novel kick, which of course means I have read a handful of isekais recently, and I need to start a page counter for how long it takes before somewhere in the book we hit a passage about the japanese peoples special disposition for peace.

Saw a ranking of the Trails games somewhere and felt the compulsive internet nerd instinct to post my own: Sky 2 > Azure > Sky 1 > Zero > Daybreak > Steel 3 > Sky 3 > Reverie > Steel 1 > Horizons > Steel 2 >> Daybreak 2 > Cold Steel 4

I'm finding BST and the Crucible stuff in FFXIV quite fun. I probably wont attempt the master board clears for a bit, but did get legendary on every board, and there's a lot of different ways to approach it and think about the fights in a way that is not the usual-form of ffxiv.

What % of new content added to ffxiv translates to "grind ARR Fates for a long time"? Surely it must be > 50% (yes im salty they closed to leveling loop hole for bst)

Heres my hot OOT Take: the last time I played OOT was a multiplayer randomizer and it was super fun and I encourage people to check out replaying those games via randomizers and/or archipelago for a great time.

Every group of game nerds has that one person who played Terranigma and wont shut up about it, and its me, I'm that person. Play Terranigma when you can, it rules.

Playing the Trails Second Chapter Demo, its great and reminding me how absolutely goated that games sound track is. The series has bangers later on, but nothing quite as jazzy/upbeat as sky is.

Look I haven't read it so I can't comment on the book itself, but there's something that triggers annoyance in my brain every time I have to hear someone who slagged off isekais/light novel litrpgs/dungeon fantasies for like a decade be like Man This Dungeon Crawler Carl Book Is Amazing.

I will admit, I did not read that entire article (yet) about dark souls 2, but know if you are a defender of dark souls 2, I will be there with you regardless of why.

The FFXIV BST stuff looks cool and involved. Seems they learned lessons from BLU (the perfect job) and Masked Carnival and have more of a focus on this new Roguelike thing they are doing.

Every time a new mechanic is introduced in Denshattack it feels like too much, and then like 2 levels later your flowing through it so good. That game feels so good.

I fell down a rabbit hole and learning about UV printers is the most powerful "there is absolutely no way I could justify ever having one of these but man it sounds cool" things I've seen in a while lol

Did another Archipelago setup over the weekend. The CrossCode AP World works very well for that. Lot of fun options to gate the progression more while opening it up to make more of an open exploration.

"The Guy She Was Interested In Wasn't a Guy At All" getting an Anime Adaptation with like an announcement w/ Dave Grohl and a Nirvana Song for its main theme is pretty great lol

Ah the perfect cure to a very stressful day is to learn that the person who made the vibe coded stalker plugin for ffxiv got bullied so hard they deleted it all.

The FFXIV discord im in ran a big asynchronous archipelago event (a multiplayer randomizer based thing) with ~21 people and it was super fun. It's amazing to me the way people come up with to make games work in ways they were never intended to. Took us about ~6 days to clear.
