my spouse’s hip replacement is today. i am at the hospital with both my day job laptop (+ everything i need for it) & my personal laptop (to get some comic work done) gonna try to get a lot done, but this is not my first rodeo, and that’s not how things usually go 😮‍💨

SIMPLICITY has been out for ONE YEAR today!!!! happy birthday to my little book :) we don't get paperbacks very often in the graphic novel world so it's tough to keep attention on something when it's no longer new, but i still think it's the best thing i've ever made. simplicitybook.xyz

The first page of This Mortal Coil by Jasmine Walls and Marie Enger. Marie's artwork covers half the page, a black and white illustration of a crumbling tower. A tiny skeleton, chest, and broken sword are falling from the tower as well. The text for the chapter opening reads: Marrow watched the great wizard Falthazir—the most dangerous, powerful, magically protected man this side of the continent—choke on a bite of venison roast and wondered if they should do something. The magic that bound Marrow into the wizard’s service was very specific. Falthazir called it contract magic, the spells he used to bind spirits and creatures to his command, but that implied some kind of agreement.
