Violence doesn't discriminate. The life-saving programs survivors depend on shouldn't either. OMB's proposed rule will allow fed agencies the ability to determine fed funding awards based on ideology, not community needs or congressional allocations.

A Proposed Rule by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) is Threatening the Lives of Survivors of Sexual Assault and Gender-Based Violence. Tell Congress that the OMB’s Proposed Rule Change CANNOT STAND! Submit a comment before July 13. What will the rule do? VALOR arrow.

VALOR believes that leading with prevention also includes preventing the recurrence of harm through accountability. What's happening in Maine is setting the path for normalizing accountability from our elected representatives and government officials, culture, and ourselves.

Today, SCOTUS confirmed that the US Constitution guarantees birthright citizenship, preserving a critical safety net for survivors and their families across the nation as they work towards stability after harm. Check out Tahirih Justice Center's statement to learn more 🔗 https://loom.ly/62Qcrik

SCOTUS Preserves Birthright Citizenship, Safeguarding Critical Protections for Survivors of Gender-Based Violence. "Today's ruling protects children from unnecessary harm and preserves a critical safeguard for survivors working to rebuilt their lives in safety and dignity." Good news! All of our powerful advocacy, from calling, writing, and advocating for survivors to get the services they need and deserve, was successful!

Press Release: California's Crime Victim Services will Remain Funded for Another Year in Governor's Final Budget, but Long-Term Funding is Needed. California Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) Advocacy Alliance logo.

For survivors, safe housing is often the difference between safety and continued harm. LGBTQ+ survivors already experience disproportionately high rates of violence and housing instability. We cannot solve homelessness or support survivors by creating more barriers to shelter.

Today's #Juneteenth and VALOR commemorates the end of slavery and celebrates the community, resilience, and joy of Black Americans. The movement is rooted in the action of Black communities, and we continue to look to their leadership to reimagine the future of preventing and ending sexual violence.

“Hello, my name is____, and I’m calling on behalf of [Organization Name], serving survivors of [sexual assault, domestic violence, child abuse, etc.] in [County]. I’m calling to urge Governor Newsom to support the inclusion of $50 million in funding for crime victim services in the final state budget.

Federal VOCA funding has dropped significantly, putting critical victim services at risk across California. Without state funding, many programs serving survivors of violence may be forced to cut services or close entirely. We strongly urge Governor Newsom to include $50 million for victim services in his final budget as our state governor. Thank you.”For Individuals: Call 916-445-2841 (Please note that the lines may be busy, so keep calling until you can get through!)

VALOR and over 30 survivor and gender justice organizations demand accountability from the Department of Justice for its gross mishandling of the Epstein files. Sexual violence and exploitation are not left vs. right issues. They are human issues. Read the statement here ➡️ https://loom.ly/SYA9QNM
