I would really appreciate your prayers for my mom. She fell today, they took her to the ER and sent her home, and then she fell again. So she’s going back to the hospital. She’s 92 so it’s not great.

I want to give massive props to the London Transport Museum for being one of the most neurodiversity-friendly public places I’ve ever visited. They really go out of their way to be accessible to kids (and grownups!) on the spectrum.

I am once again asking New York Penn Station to provide seating in the main train halls. Society will not collapse if you do this! It just keeps people from sitting ON THE FLOOR like they do presently.

Something random I appreciate about the UK: you can buy single servings of quite decent cheese at those mini-Tesco/Waitrose/Sainsburys places that are everywhere. Quite a step up from Wawa string cheese. But you cannot get a hoagie at Tesco.

There are times when it is appropriate and even desirable to go to (eg) McDonald’s, Taco Bell, or Shake Shack in another country. Just had a shack burger because it was open after 11 pm and I know there won’t be any gastric surprises. Shack burger, no cheese, no tomato, add pickles.

I do feel that some of the charm of transatlantic flight is gone now that you can get WiFi and post the whole time. There was something good about the experience of disappearing from contact for 6 hours and emerging on another continent.

In “there’s a first time for everything,” this is the first time I almost missed a plane. I was at the office at 4 am, waiting for our Uber and putting in some payment requests for the Canterbury tour
