One of my early jobs was to rebuild picture tubes for those old TV's. One had to short out the static high voltage before getting started in that process. Been zapped one too many times. 😵💫

These plants could emit as much planet-warming pollution as half of all passenger vehicles in the entire country in a single YEAR. We need a data center moratorium — now.

Yes, but not about "2001". Yes, there were accents after the "pre-historic" bits. But those faded into oblivion. The dialog after that was irrelevant to how it ended. That book and movie had an influence on one' s life.

Particularly in the '50s-'80s, where you had a lot of U.S. co-productions in need of Yank-sounding types in the UK -- most every Stanley Kubrick movie, for example.

Last thing. I replaced the battery in Mom's Van with one of them lithium things. Requiring extensive modification. Something I used to know about. Happy to say that I'm able to confidently go out into the desert for a while. I'll be awake tonight thinking about what I might have forgotten.
