Among these long-buried creeks, a short stem arising in the state cemetery was known as the Cemetery Branch, we learn in a news article announcing the construction of a bridge across it on Chincapin St. (today, Rosewood Ave.) in 1900.

More on lost eastside creeks. This 1885 map shows 3-4 different, small creeks flowing into what today is called the Poquito Branch of Boggy Creek. The Poquito Branch has been dewatered and is now a drainage ditch only flowing during storms, its historic tributaries all buried.

In 1912, 30,000 ppl came to Cuero, TX to watch 18,000 turkeys herded thru town. By 1973, both "Cuero and Worthington, MN, claimed the title of Turkey Capital of the World. The towns teamed up to plan two annual turkey races, one in each town. The winner determines the capital for the year." 🦃
