I've seen some people come around to disliking Ralsei for his spat with Orange. Honestly, the way I see it, he was trying to be earnest at first (if unintentionally patronizing), before Orange's over-sensitivity and his loss of patience made it spiral out of hand. #Deltarune

The sore spot Flowery left is still fresh on Ralsei's mind, so he's still wary of J.L. Though, Ralsei has to admit, J.L's got a way with words, what with being an exaggerated product of American folklore.
Here's some sketches of some concepts for some J.L. talksprites. I sort of imagine him as the Anti-Flowery. Someone who's warm, wise, and put together on the outside, but on the inside is terrified of what fate has in store for him and is growing fatigued after years of trying to avert it.
