please—if you're still there, get off twitter even if you think you're resilient enough
Evidence is already accruing that spending time on Twitter pulls ppl to the right, bc the algorithm feeds you horrible stuff. And again: academics are likely more vulnerable, bc they convince themselves they are less.
kinda hateful that tablets get warm and make drawing in summer uncomfortable
Mighta done something a little insane after a couple drinks and now have a huge backlog of various 18+ monsters dragons and stuff that I'll probably turn into ych on the other account later this summer Whole ass on display with my tastes tho so ymmv
"fiction normalizes—" idk abt any of that but I think social media has normalized absolutely batshit behavior and social conventions that are inconceivable to anyone that is actually well-balanced and thriving in the real world and that's a bigger problem than fiction will ever be
Gee I wonder why women and girls are less inclined to use tools that were popularized via their ability to create fake nude photos of women and girls
One of the more misogynistic takes currently trending in the AI policy space is "women use less AI than men because they have less tech literacy" Ok but have you considered that women use less AI than men because we have more tech literacy?
Idk it IS interesting seeing people grappling with the concept of 'not everyone is going to accept an apology after being hurt' today Some will be more forgiving, others will have turned away forever. I'm a forgiving person but this one I can't. People handle the harm on their own agency
I believe in changed hearts but his road back from that is a long one
Why do we need to accept it? Why is this the hangup? I'm glad he stopped the bad thing! (Still didn't apologize for the misogyny). I'm glad he stepped back! That's not enough to earn forgiveness. That's bare minimum, but still broke a lot of trust in people. That's not ours to fix.
Anyways gay bird pokemon are getting updated ref sheets, and I have commissions finishing up this coming week In spite of everything, I'm gonna fucking create.
I wish I didn't hop onto this account only to start beefing with certain things but man. This one hurt.
He isn't sorry, I mean read his damn post "I just wanted to showcase this new technology..." I don't have time for this. I'm hoping none of you do either I'm tired of being shat on and then expected to rush to forgive it. How many months was he on this thing already??
tight
We're too deep into Ai harm for people be thinking this is an oopsie after they sell out. Its not a secret to any creative how we feel. I already cannot forgive him for the vile misogyny of the comment he made in the first place. A lot of masks dropped and it fucking hurt to witness.
I think I speak for a lot when I say I’ll want actual proof of cancellation before I even consider rewarding the bare minimum. But even then, don’t expect to be immediately welcomed with open arms after turning a 180 and making cookie-cutter excuses after being so strongly against it before.
You don't have to 'grow up' out of your interests or joys. Live and love your honest self - and be gentle yourself, those little joys can be load bearing. Playtime can be healing time.
