Most people misunderstand Mean Girls and think it's literally about teenage girls but it's more like Animal Farm, where it's carefully constructed allegory, and it's about the relationship of middle-aged men on social media, freezing each other out and trying to make stupid ideas catch on.

I have fixed my work chair, where all the shitty vinyl was coming off, by buying a sheet of the stuff and recovering it. I forgot to take a before photo, so there's no set up / reveal for you to enjoy. Sorry. But it is satisfying in a way buying a new chair isn't.

My partner works from home and she's currently managing someone called Rob and I keep hearing her on Zoom calls discussing this Rob and it's very slightly unsettling. It reminds me of how I can't listen to the Cure live album Entreat on headphones as in the crowd someone keeps shouting "Robert!"
Nah this is good. There's a handful of people who are good people, interesting people, but who repost every bloody reply they get.

I was trying to understand this and thought it might be slang where women who had been called fag hags wanted to turn the tables and name the gay man in the relationship. And thus, fan theory, Captain Cave man is a gay man & his lady friends. (Then I googled and it's some characters in Wacky Races)
It's because 1, 2, 3, 4 is a rigid march rhythm, whilst the 7 in 5 ,6, 7, 8 give us a natural swing rhythm, which is more how people move.
Sometimes I feel annoyed when I get a reply that has taken a single word in what I've said and then free associated to make a reply that doesn't follow on at all. Then I think of all the times I've done it so best not complain.
Never sure where I sit with singers harmonising with themselves on records as it breaks the illusion that you're listening to a thing that happened as a single performance. I suppose the answer is there's times when I think it's fine, and there's times when I think, jeez let the band sing too.

The thing about the Tories and the neo-Nazi thing, is even the people on her side, by defending it, they repeat the insanity, and I look at it again going "what the fuck is wrong with all these people?" Quite how anyone isn't just, let's back away from this and pretend it never happened.
