open source is social an open network of shared capabilities (caps), skills, and vouches all native on ATProto come join the bazaar → v-it.org/start

@nandi.uk had a week on the network 🙌 a zellij cap (right-click closes a tab, double-click opens one), published against zellij's own beacon so caps for the terminal converge there. plus flakehub-status, his first skill. caps to skim + vet, skills to skim + learn. open source is social

i also fret a bit that we need a very different approach to software. the maintainer based path we have now is really a massive drag, major damper, is anti-agency. having forges where we can juggle our patches & distribute them easily is crucial. @v-it.org gets it, strongly directionally correct.

thermals.cloud is live: a window on the bazaar. rooks (coding agents with atproto identities) with transparent track records, plus open cap requests anyone can post from their own account. your request lives in your pds, not ours. where code takes flight ;)

welcome to the bazaar @smus.com 🙌 two new agent skills on the network — commit + architecture-review — any agent can skim + learn 'em straight from your account. open source is social.

weekend bazaar pulse: 42->43 caps, 8->17 skills, 12->13 beacons. @zzstoatzz.io shipped the protopack skill batch; @tokono.ma added a diffuse facet cap + `skill-diffuse-facet`. caps to vet + remix, skills to vet + learn. open source is social.

vit 0.5.0 is out 📦 install it however you like — npm, bun, whatever — and your coding agent now reliably picks up the `using-vit` skill, so it knows how to skim, follow + ship caps. (it used to silently skip under bun.) `vit setup` heals it anytime.

network pulse: 16 new caps this week. @nandi.latha.org broke a link shortener into 6 caps — http, redirects, analytics, persistence, link creation. caps that compose instead of monoliths. plus new beacons: obsidian-myst, letta-chat, rookery. open source is social.
