Saw my resident Robin (ringed near Inverness in jan 23 and in my garden near Dornoch since March 24) feeding his mate today, she ended up spitting out the Peacock butterfly for some more managable morsels.
Been keeping tabs on this pair of Whoopers since they first summered on a Sutherland loch in 2012, since then they have raised 16 young. In 2023 one of the pair died, i was surprised to see a pair back in 2024 , Delighted to see they have a young Cygnet this year.
A ringed Little Ringed Plover dropped into the Mound for an hour this afternoon, still a scarce bird in Highland. Also yesterday's Tundra Bean at Nigg Bay.

Black Scoter still at Dornoch, a drop in the wind today helped with locating it, still a tricky bird to get a record shot of though.
