Are giant cardboard sports heads an Australian thing? I am fascinated by them, and I have so many questions: How did it start? Who was first motivated by seeing a massive version of their own head in the crowd? Where do people get them printed? *These are not giant, but they are pretty significant

This is a big thing and needs to be talked about more - that even in fully "professional" leagues around Europe, players still need to split their focus and work part-time to afford to live. I don't think people who complain about the standards of the women's game appreciate that.

Running a nationwide league in a country the size of Australia, especially one as cash-strapped as the A-League, must result in immense pressure to get games played when scheduled. But it was pretty clear at 5 p.m. that #BRIvCCM couldn't be played safely.
