Been thinking about The Odyssey all week. What a motion picture.
I reviewed games pretty much weekly from 2008 until, uh, May, and although it was a little refreshing to not have to worry about it at first I now miss it. if you're an editor who needs help with the fall's avalanche of releases, I'm available. get in touch.
It’s Monday so let’s do some news. I’m employed full time! I’m a marketing project manager for a local agency, which means outside of GDQ, I’ve left the games industry professionally. I loved my time working in games, all the friends I’ve made, but I’ve got a family to take of and can’t wait
Waiting on an email to tell me if I have a full-time job, my phone saying ‘downloading one email’ and it’s from my local grocery store mailing list:
Trying to put this drawer back in and having a Cat of Amontillado situation

There are a lot of valid criticisms of One Piece that have been talked about ad nauseam, but it really says a lot about the story that they have a manga, an anime, ANOTHER anime, and a live action all telling the story in different ways, and so far they are batting 100 on the ones that are out.

It's Monday so time for some cool news. I am the new Head of Interstitial Directors for @gamesdonequick.com ! I'm so excited to work with the team at GDQ to put on amazing shows for such important causes, and to also step back into the AV world after a few years away!
My son playing Pikmin on the couch: ‘dad I can’t talk right now. Something bad is going on. Oh jeez. DEMONS!’ Happy Father’s Day to me.
Olivia Rodrigo has so many songs that are pop punk/emo lyrics over pop music and I think that fucking rules.
What if I could convert the light from my computer monitor into something other than existential dread
I’m not a developer, but would love to hear from one on this. Does this mean that LLMs and gen AI will be cooked into the games themselves and/or just the engine during production? If it’s cooked into the game itself, what does this mean for install sizes and always online requirements?
'The road to Unreal Engine 6' - www.unrealengine.com/news/the-roa... "for UE6, we see LLMs, generative AI models, and tools like Claude and Codex playing a central role in helping you build content faster while maintaining the creative control you need."
Coming down from the high of being at SGF, seeing friends, and meeting folks for the first time. The biggest thing I’m walking away with is feeling connected to the industry for really the first time. Working from home and not meeting your clients or coworkers leaves you feeling like an island.
And I just got an email for a job interview??? Everything's coming up me.
