I know it's Merz and I know I shouldn't be surprised, but his solution that he just needs to communicate his strategy to the people better (and the implication that the unwashed masses simply can't comprehend how much he's trying to help them) really does underline his contempt for ordinary people.

I don't think I ever recall another time where I planned to vote for a party, yet their subsequent election campaign repulsed me to the extent I'm not sure I ever could vote for them again, never mind just in this election. Die Grünen truly have a remarkable talent.

Sorry, aber fucking was??? Die Wahl von Nazis soll NIEMALS respektiert werden. Manchmal sieht man ganz genau, dass die Nazis früher praktisch unangefochten herrschen konnten, weil sie nicht richtig bekämpft wurden.

Can anybody recommend a good tenancy lawyer in Berlin? In particular ones that deal with the Mietpreisbremse and are any good at getting landlord companies to actually do their job.

They failed to protect us. We asked if they'd reverse cuts to services that help us. They smiled and gave us a bench and a memorial tree instead. They couldn't protect those either.

After tomorrow's election, I want no more lectures from Germans about fascism, or genocide, or learning from the past. I want no more piety from descendents of the Nazis. I want a period of silence and shame. And I mean real fucking shame, not the performative type we've seen for the past century.

Really quite gutted. Just heard of the passing of Annie Gallop. Had a lovely chat with her in May after she won her seat again in Lambeth and had hoped to catch up when next in London - she was always lovely to me, a wonderful local councillor, and truly was the very best of the Labour Party. ❤️

A nine-point lead for the far-right in the German national polls. It’s totally normal now to see full-blown Nazis, as I did today, in the centre of Berlin. Each time I talk to a nonwhite immigrant, whether friend or stranger, I ask them “what is your plan B?” I don’t care how “crazy” I sound.
